H having surgery Tuesday am
yup. His leg is THAT infected. He's going under full general anesthesia to open up his previous injury to clear out the infection. Boo! At least this will help facilitate healing. Surgery should last about an hour and home in a few after that. I'm really hoping this clears up quickly.

Thanks ladies! Neither of us slept well last night in anticipation. It's been hard seeing him unable to do ANYTHING without being in pain for three weeks now. I'm relieved the blood clots will be cleared out (non-life-threatening superficial clots blocking blood flow to the surface and the infection) and healing can resume.
I'll keep you posted.

TTC on hold until December
We're home now. I think they shot him up with enough pain killers to tranquilize a horse, but he's barely feeling their effects. The longer we are home and the more he sleeps, the less he's in pain. Apparently the infection wasn't as bad as the surgeon had anticipated, which is great. We're waiting to hear back about a plastic surgery consultation for finding the best way to get the missing skin to regrow in a low blood flow area.
Tip for picking up Schedule 2 meds: Make sure the doctor fills out the rx completely. I took one in and it was missing the "1" for number of items and the date and was rejected. We have to take it back to the doctor tomorrow (for a re-check) and have it fixed. ugh.
That's good to hear (the surgery not the prescription)! I'm sure they do that to keep you from forging it to feed your own drug habit lol
Did the doc say how long hubby has to stay off his leg now?
He's off weight-bearing activity now, but not sure for how long. We have a re-check this afternoon to find out more. Personally, I think he'll be off work for another two weeks and on crutches for at least a week.
Glad he's doing better; hope it continues to heal this time around!
