Downtown Minneapolis dining out recs?

My husband and I are going to a Twins game next Sat and staying at the Radisson. I'm thinking after the game (it's a 3:10 game) we'd go back to the hotel and freshen up and then walk to a nice restaurant. Any suggestions? We are the meat and potatoes kind of people... :)

  • If you like steak I wouId say either Manny's Steakhouse or Murray's Steakhouse. Both should be walkable. They can certainly be spendy, so I would check the menus online to see price ranges.

Have fun - I still have yet to go to a Twins game this year so I'm jealous!

  • There are lots of great "meat and potatoes" places - especially if you're willing to spend a little $$. The best options might be Capital Grille, M&S Grill, maybe Murray's. All great steak places.

If you're looking for something that's not super expensive, try BANK at the Westin Hotel - really good options there that are a range of prices and types of food. Also maybe Ike's, which is a great place, but not as expensive.

    Good luck!

I have to second all of these except M&S Grill. Maybe I was just there on a couple of really bad days, but both times I've been there, I've ordered steaks medium rare and got steaks medium well. I sent them back and again got medium well.

I'd also add Oceanaire and Zelo to the list.

  • Another steak place is Seven. Heard it's great, but haven't been there.

Oh, and there's Ruth's Chris. That's my hubby's favorite steak place.

Between Murray's and Manny's, personally I prefer Murray's. Their menu has more variety, which is good because I don't eat red meat.

You could try Fogo de Chao. I know a lot of people who love that place, I've avoided it because I've heard it's not great for people who don't eat red meat.

Oceanaire is one of my favorites, and they do offer a decent selection of steaks in addition to all the seafood. And the sour cream mashed potatoes are divine. I went there again last weekend and loved my food, as usual.

  • Thanks ladies! I've looked at all your suggestions and I think Murrays is what we are looking for! I'd love to try Oceanaire but my DH hates the smell of fish, so I better stear clear! Thanks again!
