Music help?

I'm trying to think of some new songs for my class tonight because I'm changing up my abs section and like new music when I make changes.

This class pushes your body but also has a relaxation element to it so last time I used some guitar versions of popular songs for this section.

I'm making it harder tonight so I think I need to keep the music stronger.  I'm looking for something with a good beat, something that would help you keep moving, but that isn't too strong because it's the last section before a brief stretch then full on relaxation and I don't want the transition to be too abrupt.

Any suggestions?

Re: Music help?

  • Sorry, I feel like I should know this, but what kind of class is this? Some sort of dance, right?
  • It's called PiYo -- it's a relatively new format... just getting popular in California... It's a fusion of Pilates and Yoga with some dance and sports conditioning as well.
  • In Zumba/Hip Hop my favs were always Beyonce (Crazy in love) and Pitbull....and then my favorite winding down song/stretching was Kelly Clarkson (Already Gone).  Cascada has good beats like Everytime We Touch.  Kesha has some good songs too...good beats. Big Smile
  • Sounds like a good class! I'd take it if it was offered around here!

The gym I go to offers Les Mills classes... they have everything from kickboxing, to yoga, to spinning. They release the track lists online. That might give you some inspiration.

Ooh... I forgot about Kelly Clarkson!  I'm sure she has something!  Cascada?  Hmm... I honestly don't recognize that name but I'm sometimes bad at remembering artists/groups but then end up knowing their songs.  Thanks Cipolla!

GOOD IDEA!  It is a great class... if you see it offered, definitely give it a try!
