what's on your office walls?

i feel like i need to actually decorate my new office. i have a few frames here and there but no art or anything like that on the walls.

anyway -- just kinda brainstorming. trying not to spend too much this week buying stuff for the walls!

Re: what's on your office walls?

  • I have two sets of artwork (each set is a rectangle piece about 8"x20") that are originally from Target but I got them at Ross or something like that. I also have a big corkboard courtesy of the office supply room. And a paper fan a friend got me from China. For some reason, I've never bothered to bring in my diplomas.  I seriously suggest places like Ross, TJ Maxx and Marshalls to find inexpensive wall decor.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • I have 1 wall because the rest are windows that look out on the lake so decorations are very limited here.

I have a few family pictures and a calendar.

  • like what sort of art?? i apparently don't spend much time in offices with real art/decor on the walls...

ETA: most of the stuff at like tjmaxx/etc seems like it might be too model-homey for office walls??

  • Edited down- I put what's in my cube.  I have cube walls, so that negates anything fun.  I have framed pictures and lots of different cards and postcards of cupcakes.

  • My stuff is all geometric shapes. I can take a pic with my cell phone but can't post til tonight. Anything scenic or abstract will work for an office. It's all about the mood you want to project or your color scheme. The stuff I bought was meant to go with the yellow walls of my first office, so they are warm colors (red/orange/brown/green).

  • I live in cubeville, so my decor is limited. . . I've got one "wall" with all of my awards & company calendar & go to contacts, one wall full of pictures, and one little wall with Texas tech related pendants and decorations.

I've got a few of my favorite pics of our dog, DH, and me on the desk.  And I've got the other open wall full of dry erase boards where I write out my open projects/issues so I can see them.

I did dress up my filing cabinets & stuff with cute striped and polka dot magnets, so at least I have some decoration.

  • My office is SMALL, but I'm lucky enough to have a window taking up most of one wall.  One of the two other full walls has a huge framed map of Texas (I inherited it from a former co-worker, I think they got it at the Texas Land Office?), and the other full wall has a bulletin board with a calendar and some other random stuff on it.  I have half a wall (the other half is my office door) that's empty, but I've never figured out what to put on it that I want to stare at all the time!
  • I'm so jealous that you get an office. With walls. And a door, I'm guessing? The offices of the creative managers are actually pretty nice... They've all brought in a mix of vintage and or modern stuff of their own. Lighting is very important. I occupy the tiniest, most badly located cube in the building sobim sp jealous of anyone who is able to decorate!
