Actually...I need to change my ticker - we've had a change of plans
It's a long story but we took a few mission trips to Haiti and felt really convicted about spending the time and money that we would on our Europe trip. DH's granddad paid for our plane tickets but we would still spend a lot of money on the trip and buying everything for it. We were also nominated to serve in the Peace Corps in June of 2011 and would need to move out of our condo here in WPB by December...and the alternative would be to move in with one of our families until June.
So...we'd been kicking around the idea of doing a 6-month Discipleship Training School with Youth With A Mission, and decided just to use our plane tickets to Europe for that instead. We applied and were accepted to start Sept. 25 in Geneva, Switzerland. Turns out we had to cancel and rebook our tickets anyways, but that's our new plan. We'll be doing 3 months of classroom training in Switzerland and then 3 months of outreach somewhere in Africa (either Mali, Madagascar, Rwanda or South Africa).
I'm kind of sad that we're not getting to do all of the fun things we had planned for our original trip (mostly Oktoberfest!) but I think we'll still be able to do a little bit of traveling on the weekends while we're in Europe (for 3 months instead of 6 weeks). Plus, we won't have to move in with our parents!

How do you get nominated for PC? I also have a friend doing that...people all over the place. She's in Pittsburgh doing training and then head to Malawi, I believe.
