short vacation suggestions within driving distance?
Hi, everyone. My DH and twin babies and I moved to Marietta in June. Our anniversary is coming up and we want to get away for a few days. We will be bringing the babies with us. We usually go to a beach for our anniversary, but don't really want to spend the entire time at the beach now with the babies. We would either want to spend just a day or skip it all together. We like new places, museums, restaurants, tourist things, etc. We would be driving but would don't want to go more than 5 hours from here. Any suggestions?
Re: short vacation suggestions within driving distance?
Charleston, Savannah, Tybee Island, Ashville and Amelia Island are some of the places we have considered for take-the-baby vacations. We are waiting for cooler weather.
I use Trip Advisor for hotel reviews and activity ideas.
The only trip we have taken so far with the baby was to a wedding in Chicago, and it was wonderful, but way too far for a quick getaway. Very baby friendly though

Chattanooga is a very family-friendly city. If you stay downtown, you've got the Aquarium, Hunter Art Museum, the Art District, North Shore, Walnut Street walking bridge, Ross' Landing, the Creative Discovery Children's Museum (which I hear is AWESOME...but I haven't been able to borrow a child yet and go!). There's lots of great restaurants and outdoor areas. You can go the whole trip without eating at a chain restaurant. They also have free electric buses to get you around the city. PM me if you would like more details.
I also love Savannah, but I don't see it as quite as family friendly. However, it would provide you with close access to the beach at Tybee. For both places, you can check out VRBO.com for rentals. Good luck!
P.S. Your girls are adorable! Love the names too!
