Can somebody tell me why

anybody would think that Times Square really needed a Pop-Tarts World?

Re: Can somebody tell me why

  • I thought an m&m store was tacky, When I heard about the poptart store it reminds me why I do not go to time square unless I absolutely have to.

Whats next a bushes bakes bean store, or Pringles store. its just odd.

  • We ran the gauntlet through Times Square on Monday night to get to 8th ave, and H told me the pop-tart news. I agree, it's right up there with M&M and Hershey - totally idiotic, and full of more useless plastic junk for tourists. It's not like a novelty or a restaurant with a signature dish... it's a frickin Pop Tart.
  • I don't even mind the Hershey or M&Ms stores (not that I've ever been to either) but this is just ridiculous.  I hope it's a big fat failure and not there long.

HAHAHA!  I completely agree these stores are tacky.  I am really not a fan of tourist destinations and avoid them like the plague.

Doesn't every major city need a Pop Tart World? =/

Do you believe they actually sell deep fried pop tarts at Point Pleasant (and I'm sure elsewhere)? GROSS!

Its pretty ridiculous, and I hope it fails too, but I have a feeling that the tourists are going to eat it up,... no pun intended...Wink

  • At least the Hershey store is a little more multi-faceted. My mom collects the memorabilia. But Pop-tarts seem really specific. Did you see the sushi? They crushed pop tarts and roll them in a fruit roll-up like material.

Yeah I saw that. I don't even like pop tarts - way too sweet but yes, I believe the tourists are going to keep it alive and making money!
