Kittens & Chickens & Nestie night question.
We were given 11 laying hens by a friend, we live in the middle of no where so we let them free range. We also have a litter of kittens, the kittens go outside & think they can gang up on the chickens, it will be 3 or 4 little furry beasts against 1 sleeping chicken. They sneak up really close, chicken hears them & bocks really loud. Kittens double in size from their fur standing on end, hiss & run as fast as they can. Wish I could get it on video, its quite amusing.
Thats how I've spent much of my afternoon, the kids go into giggle fits that stops them from breathing they think its so funny. So have we given up on Nestie night? Im going to try to be here tonight if I wont be the only one.

That's hilarious! Our neighbors used to have chickens and they used to chase my old horse around when she was in the pasture or when I was riding her. It was hilarious watching 6 inch tall animals chase 1,000 lb horse around.
I'll be around for awhile until H and I go to some friends' house for dinner.

haha thats awesome! i'd love to see those teenie kittens poof up and run away from the chickens. it looks cute when i picture it in my head.
i've always wanted chickens... maybe someday when we have a bigger yard.
anyway, i'm here for a little while... its my sisters bday so i'm meeting her and her bf for a drink or two in a little bit. but first i'm waiting for her to call me.

That made me laugh. I can so picture it!
I can be around... no plans. But the board is so dead these days. Maybe a Nestie night will get some things going.

That's a great story, I can totally picture that.
Here's my farm chicken story:
When I was growing up on the farm with my brothers and sister, we had various chickens; many females, and one rooster. Well, the rooster would jump on the hen's back, and "wrestle" on top of her. Our little kid minds thought that he was trying to hurt her; we always wondered why we never had baby chicks...
Love it! I bet that is really entertaining.
And I'm around!
I think that would have been so cute to see.
I will be here for a bit off and on tonight.
Hehehe I love it. Animals are so fun!
