Adventures of A. Cook
We had Zarates, which is a mostly Peruvian/Argentenian place. It was SO yummy!
Apps. were strange, but delicious. It was ground meat, pieces of boiled eggs, and a few raisins wrapped in mashed potatoes, then pan fried and served with a spicy chimmichuri sauce (sp?)
DH had jerk chicken (I know, not Peruvian, but yummy!)
I had lomo saltado, which is beef, onions, tomatoes, red peppers, and taro with a spicy sauce.
We both had plantains and yucca fries.
In fact, the leftovers are kind of calling my name right now...
I have been wanting to try Zarate's forEVER now! Jealous! I keep seeing advertisements for it in all kinds of random Edmond publications and I am craving it!! I haven't had plantains in over a year and a half, since the last time I was in Miami... THOSE are calling my name.
We had leftover grilled pork loin (we made two the night before)... I ate mine cold, dipped in mustard with a side of grapes. lol
DH made a quadruple batch of his famous chocolate chip cookies on Sunday so I've been slowly packing on the lbs this week because I find someway of justifying eating about 5 a day.
Love him, but totally hate him right now.
I saw your post on FB and wondered where you had gone. Sounds interesting! I might have to look it up and see if they have anything vegetarian. I found a Guatemalan restaurant that had awesome reviews on Urban Spoon the other day, but we couldn't find anything vegetarian on the menu for H to eat.
ETA: Just checked it out and they do have several vegetarian items on the menu! I think we'll be checking it out soon!
