Hi ladies! We had the inspection on the house we're in the process of buying. Our sellers accepted our requests from the inspection results. They'll fix some things and credit us towards other repairs. Now we need to find some local resources.
We will likely need to install a new hot water heater. Any local plumber suggestions? We have a quote from Home Depot and will look into Lowes too but I wondered if a small company might be more or less expensive.
We have to have the chimney repaired and boots on the roof replaced. Any recommendations for someone to do this?
Also, has anyone seen any good deals on a shop vac recently?
If all continues to go well, we'll close on 9/10 and move in on 9/18. There is so much work to be done. I can't wait to get in there and get started! We're praying that things continue to move along on this positive path...
Re: Need recommendations for repairs
I just used David Leroy plumbing for work last week (needed a faucet fixed at a work site). They were very nice and professional. I asked him about tankless hot water heaters for our house (someday...).

I will send you good vibes. This is our big inspection week, the one on our house was Monday (still haven't heard) and the buying one is Friday.
Not sure about the chimney repair - a mason? Check out Sears for shop vacs.
I just got an email from our agent asking us if we want to buy the hot tub that is at the new house. For $2,900! No thanks! We were told they were taking it when we were doing the contract and we decided we didn't want to take care of that and a pool. We were wondering how they were going to move it, I guess they started thinking about that.
Oh great...I hope everything goes to plan and its a smooth transition. Congrats!!!!
My dad's company (Thermotech, Inc.) actually can do plumbing work and we install water heaters all the time. If you are interested, let me know.
I don't have any suggestions on any of the others...sorry! Good luck though!
Yaaah! I'm so glad to hear things are going well.
I know the change of address packets at the post office used to have a 20% off coupon in them for home depot. Maybe that will help for a shop vac. I'll keep my eyes open. We have a Rigid brand one from there and haven't had any problems . . and it gets used a ton.
