My poor little cat had to have four teeth removed in her teeth cleaning this morning. She has a gum disease (I can't remember the name) and now they are concerned about Feline Leukemia or FIV. They're doing the tests for both now and are supposed to call if either are positive. They said I could pick her up around 3. Fingers crossed it's all negative and there's nothing to be worried about other than her needed teeth cleanings each year. I can handle that. I don't think I could handle her having a disease like leukemia or FIV.
Re: My kitty
I hope they are just being overly cautious and it's nothing.
It's good that you are being proactive with her teeth though. We had a cat that had such a bad infection in its mouth one time that it took awhile to get it back to normal.
It's been an hour and a half since the vet originally called. She said if it was negative she wouldn't call back. I leave in 45 minutes to go get her so hopefully this is a good sign that there hasn't been a call back.
Mel: we took her in because her breath was nasty and she's a face kitty (when we sleep, she likes to sleep next to us and is always breathing right at our noses). It was originally for our comfort but I'm glad she's had it done now because I'm sure she was in pain.
