I just noticed it this morning - I think there were a few very small chips in my ring. I have a channel setting and it looks like the chips are top edge of the ring, right next to the diamonds. I wouldn't care if the chips were on the edge of the band...but with them being so close to the diamonds, it makes me nervous that the setting might be compromised.
I don't even know how I could have done this!
I'm going to check the warranty that came with the ring when I get home, but does anyone thing that something like this might be covered? Or if it will even effect my setting?
Maybe we can swing by the store tomorrow night or something. Do you think I could take it to a different jeweler (one that's on my way home from work) and just have them look at it for their opinion?

I hope it's just a surface scratch that doesn't effect anything. We're going to go to the jewelers tomorrow night - I'll read my warranty tonight too.
Just another reason why I need to get this ring insured! Just haven't gotten it together to get it appraised yet.
Follow up question:
I did some digging online and I saw that my jeweler offers an extended service plan which basically covers all maintenance. I can't remember if we have that or not. I was thinking of calling and asking if we had that on our account, if we didn't, I would add it. Then I could go in in like a week or so and have them check out my ring. In the meantime I'd just go to a local jeweler just to ensure that the setting hasn't been compromised.
Do you think that will be suspicious?
I like the way you think! But really, calling and asking if you have it, then adding it if you don't, won't be suspicious at all. The jeweler should have talked about that with you & DH when the ring was bought.
The only thing with calling in a week is that they might have the date that you bought the insurance on file. Shouldn't be an issue though, it's still such a new ring, the jeweler should have it covered anyways.

All this worrying for nothing! I called and turns out I was smart and had the service plan already on the rings!
Phew! Now I can relax
