Happy Thursday!

How is everyone today?

David had a nosebleed Tuesday Night/Wednesday morning, 3:00pm yesterday, 4 am and 7am this morning.  It's kind of ridiculous at this point.  I called the Dr. yesterday and he had one last week Thursday night and again when he woke up Friday morning.  She said to use sailine spray and if I want to come in.  I feel kind of crazy if I went in.  I used to have nosebleeds all the time over the summer growing up, and I think genetics plus the fact he is taking allergy medicine (which is drying his nose out) is what's causing all of this.

It's not fun washing sheets and clothing hoping the blood will come out.  His sheets are pretty much trashed but I won't put new ones on until I know the bleeding is at bay.

Re: Happy Thursday!

  • I am really sorry Mel! I hope he stops getting them soon.  But you would know if you needed to take him in and it doesn't sound like you feel you need to.  Maybe just the phone call was enough to confirm what you were thinking.

It's been a crazy day for me already.  I had to go back to the house twice because I forgot things.  Thank goodness I wasn't far away when I figured it out.  Good thing though was I just called about 2 medical bills and found out they didn't have my insurance on file so there goes $400 in bills I don't have to worry about.  That's about the best news I've had all week.  Oh and I still feel like my head is spinning 100mph with all the things I need to do before the week is over.

  • Mel I'm sorry David's having such issues with nosebleeds! Hopefully the saline spray will help.

I'm debating if I want to go into work today or not...I probably should at least for a little bit.

  • Mel: I hope the saline spray helps!  I dated a guy in college who got summer nosebleeds all the time.  The first time he had one I freaked out because it just wouldn't stop.  I still remember that day.  He acted like it was nothing.

I'm doing good this morning.  Lacey-cat is feeling better, she took her antibiotics like a champ this morning and she ate.  Our other cat is mothering her right now and making sure she's ok - it's really sweet.  I'm sure in another day or two they'll be fighting again but for now, it's good!

Oh AND our new bookkeeper started officially today!!!  I am So excited.  She's so good.  Training has been minimal and she's picking up on everything so quickly it's amazing.

Glad she is doing better!  And yay for a new bookkepper that seems intelligent and qualified.  I am training a newbie at the restaurant tonight.  I was told I was most qualified to train even though I've been there the shortest of anyone.  That made me feel good!

  • Morning!

I hope that David feels better Mel.!

Our fridge decided to crap out on us last night and we woke up to a huge puddle of water from the ice machine. Sucks. :(

  • Michelle that sucks!  Hopefully you didn't lose too much food.

I think your washer is crapping out on us.  It's making this horrible knocking sound.  It's in the basement and I'm 1.5 levels above it and I can hear it.  DH is going to see if he can take it apart and see if it's something he can figure out.  No more wash for us today/tomorrow.

I feel your pain!  We had that happen in early July.  No puddle of water though - we had sour milk.  Ick.

  • I hate when appliances go out because it never seems to be an inexpensive fix.

    Uck!

MH spent the morning cleaning it out and we are having someone come look at it tonight. If it's not worth the price to fix it then we are going appliance shopping tonight.

  • it's afternoon now, but I'm always the last to chime in - sounds like most of us are having a rough morning - thankfully tomorrow is FRIDAY!

so my crappy news - my boss laid off two employees, he told me tuesday he was going to do it, because i'm 'senior staff' - whatever, I've just put up with his BS the longest. So he let go two guys (we're an office of 5 + part time book keeper). So now it's just me and one other girl w/ our boss. We're only working 20 hours a week, so it's only a matter of time before we just close the doors, I'm not sure how I feel about it - freaked out a little, but not as much as I thought I would be, so we'll see how it goes.

Sorry Heather.  Have you had any luck looking for a new job?  I kind of feel that way about my job at this point.  That's why I got the 2nd part time job to prepare.  I am not as terrified as I was initially only because Derick has a good job and the part time job I have would be enough but I still have panic attacks from time to time thinking about it.

  • there is nothing out there - the few firms that advertise are receiving 500 resume's for each position. the kicker is that my husband has been out of work since march - he's going back to school, so at least he has something figured out, but we only have COBRA for another 12 months and after that we're done - no health insurance. I'm applying for anything I can find. I'm hoping I have another 6 months - I really feel for the two guys that were let go, both have families and one has a wife who doesn't work, the other a 5 month old - it's just a really tough time fore everyone.
  • It is really tough and hard to see these things happen.  I remember a few months ago all you heard on the news was an increase in jobs.  I kept saying it was because of the census and in a few months they'd be out of work again.  Well last week I believe I saw something about a spike in job loss and they were blaming it on the fact that the census workers had been laid off.  Some people say they see a turn in the economy but I don't.  At least not here.  If anything it's getting worse.
