I have a wedding to go to on Saturday.

I am in the wedding party but really not looking forward to it.  I know this sounds horrible and I am sure it will be fine but I am just not into it right now.

They are having this huge wedding 200+ people and the wedding party is 20 people itself.  So the rehearsal dinner tomorrow is twice the size of my wedding!  It's just going to be a long day Saturday and I don't think it will be relaxing at all.

On top of this DH is not in the wedding party and is really worried about what he is going to do while I am busy doing picture etc.  He won't know anyone there.

*sigh*

  • I still don't understand why people insist on having wedding parties that big.  Seems very AW-y to me.  Is this a friend, or family?

  • A friend, she was my college roommate.  I would consider her my BF, but we don't see each other often or talk on a regular basis.

Funny story about her wedding party.  She was planning on having 9 girls and 9 guys for the wedding party.  Her sister assumed her boyfriend would be a groom's man and my friend doesn't know how to say no so she just went with it.  Then she needed to ask another girl to be part of the wedding party to balance it.  HAHAHA.

  • Sounds like the wedding I had to go to last Saturday, except HH was the one in the WP and I was the one left with nobody to talk to. They had 10 groomsmen, 9 bridesmaids, a junior groomsman, a FG, and a RB.

I took a flask of Jack Daniel's and spent a lot of time taking walks by myself and reading a book.

Oh man I'm so sorry I didn't realize the wedding you were talking about was like this!  I think DH is going to try to DL a movie to my ipod to watch.  He's gonna be miserable which is what makes me dread this even more.

  • Lol and I thought I was bad for having 5 BMs and 5 GM! 10?!?!! Holy sh!t. No thank you. I wish I'd had like... two. 3 of them were mostly because I felt obligated.

  • Oh and what to do about DH... I'm assuming that you'll know other people at the wedding besides just the bride, correct?  I would find someone that your H would get along with and introduce them as soon as you can so he can have someone to kinda tag-along with.  We had to do that for our wedding for a couple of Adam's guy friends who didn't know anyone else.

  • I just don't get large wedding partys. I think 5 is plenty, I only had 2 bms and HH had 2 gm.
