I'm bored, so did you have a nickname growing up?? I had multiple.... When I was born, my older brother was 3 at the time and couldn't say "Sara Lane" so I was called Hara Wane. My dad still calls me that occasionally. I was also called "Blondie" by my dad for obvious reasons. My Granddaddy calls me "T" which originally started off as "Turkey" but got shortened. I still have no clue why he started calling me that.
Adam's is way more hilarious. He was nicknamed "Running Dog Turd" as a kid because he was running barefoot one day and... well, you can figure out the rest.
So what is/was yours??
Re: Nicknames?
My sister use to call me by my middle name, Blanche, she still does sometimes. Nothing too interesting.
when i was little i used to suck the juice out of pickles and throw out the actual pickle, so my dad always called me pickles and still does today. And yes I still do this, lol
Jay has 100 nicknames for me, the current one is LB (Little Bit) because I'm short. I call him stinky, i have no idea why! Sometimes I call him snuggle bunny, but he hates that!
My Dad started calling me Katy Bob or Bob for some reason when I was little then when my youngest sister started talking she called me Bobby. My uncle is really the only one that still calls me that though.
I call Cameron stinky all the time!! Too funny! He calls me darlin' though.
My dad had about a million for me. He still calls me "Tweet" or "Tweets" once in a while. The evolution of that one went thus: "Sweetie Pie" --> "Tweetie Pie" --> "Tweetie" --> "Tweets" --> "Tweet."
Other than Dad, I've pretty much just been Kel. I only like for people I like to call me that, though.
Matt calls me... well, no one thing consistently. He used to call me "Babe" all of the time but that has some pretty painful associations for me now, so he had to stop. "Hon," "dear," "wife," "misanthrope," and "beautiful" all get rotated in.
I had to look up what misanthrope means
I taught Matt that word, and explained that I was one, so he loves to say it now. It makes him feel smart, and calling me that makes him laugh.
DH never calls me by my name & I never call him by his name, only when we're introducing one another. We call each other Babe, Honey, Sweetheart, Sweetie, etc. It's very awkward if we call one another by our real names.
For nicknames, my uncle started calling me Moose when I was younger and it stuck. My dad, sister, or mom still call me that sometimes. I have also been called, Princess, Lucy, Hook (only DH calls me that...funny story), Mis (by my nephews & DH's younger cousins), & Coach.
duplicate post...my bad!
Sissy by my little sister
I always and still do call my sister munchie. She loved monchi chi's (showing our age I think) and I called her munchkin so it got combined she ended up with the above.
Bernie calls me Silly Puka. I always wear puka shells around my left ankle.
Bernie is called Papa Bear The twins call me Momma Bear.
Jackie is Punkin Head
Jessica is Baby Bear
Joanna Bernie and I have silly names for each other. Bernie is Steak Hands, I am Salami Mommy, & Joanna is Bologna Toes. It all started out with some wierd conversation the 3 of us had on a trip somewhere but couldn't tell you how it happened
When I was little: Punkin or Puddin-- apparently they had to use the "salad tossers" to get me out and my head was misshapen for a while, like a dollop of pudding!
In middle school: Chipmunk, because my cheeks were huge.... and still are
High school: Moog or Nutmeg
Now: Meg or Gone (my maiden name, just spelled differently)
my name is Morgan so ever since birth my entire family called me Mo. that's what my teachers, friends, EVERYONE called me until college when I decided that I wanted to go by my real name.
i've had lots of nicknames as the years have gone by...it started as Jilly Bean with family (jill and i was an easter baby), then my brother and sister started calling me Beaner, which has now been shortened to Bean, and some other family members call me Jilly. In high school i was called Tweeder (from my last name).
Jake has a ton of nicknames for me...Beans, cinnamon, Jill-O, dill pickle, bugjockey (I drive a VW bug), and the list goes on...but he mostly calls me beans.
We often call each other babe, sweets, dear, etc...
It's funny that you guys have said that your hubby hardly calls you by your first name, because I thought I was the only one in that situation. I guess it's probably because it's only the two of us in the house, so he doesn't really need to call me by name to get my attention. But when he does call me by name it sounds so strange...and it even did on our wedding day when we did our vows - i have expected him to say "beans, I take you to be my wife"
My little sisters middle name is Morgan and I call her Mo! lol Mo somehow developed into Moses so I call her that to.
