I should start by saying that DH and I triple puffy heart LOVE our neighborhood. And we do like our house, but it on the smaller side with no garage. While we could raise kids in it, it would also be very nice to have a slightly bigger house with some more storage. We have researched putting on an addition to get this extra space, but then today DH emails me a listing. The house is in a neighborhood a few over and it looks really nice and has great size rooms. Definitely is the size we are looking for and is listed for less than what our realtor thinks we should easily be able to get for our house since we have a bigger backyard and nicer finishes. We have an appointment to go look at it tomorrow morning! Ahhh!
So here's the question: Do you buy now to get the extra space we will need one day but don't need right now? Also, DH is still unemployed so do we attempt to buy our 10 year home not knowing what his commute will be like? Although his extra time will allow us to save $$ on the move and initial painting, home repair, etc, so it could be a great time to buy too.
We are thinking we'll only buy it if we get an incredible deal and it is exactly what we want. But it is just so weird to be thinking about moving. And I LOVE looking at houses so that doesn't help me not get carried away with all of this. And to top it off our realtor is out of town so her friend realtor is taking us. It will be interesting to see if she'll give it to us straight like our realtor. Craziness!
Re: Craziness
I agree, if its in you price range and you don't think it'll cause issues, go for it!
