What are you doing to...

fill your time now that all the wedding planning is over?

I finally am finding free time, and it's nice actually. After the wedding, we went to Mexico for a week. We finally got back late Thursday. We spent most of the weekend moving the rest of my stuff Gabe's and cleaning my apt. because my lease ended Sat. Then I spent Sunday finishing up my summer grad class, which ended Monday. I spent Monday cleaning/unpacking wedding gifts/all my crap that I don't know why I still have but can't seem to bring myself to throw away. I spent all day today changing my name.

Now I don't know what to do with myself! I have nothing planned for tomorrow, other that sitting and hoping I get phone calls for last minute teaching jobs. Being an unemployed teacher in IL SUCKS.

Re: What are you doing to...

  • Ugh..I think being an unemployed anything anywhere sucks.  Unless you're an avid cyclist, apparently.  Cody has had no qualms about going for long rides every day.  Glad his job starts next week.

Our time was almost immediately consumed with moving Cody in, then looking for a new place, now packing and then moving to the new place.

I start grad school over Labor Day weekend, so I will definitely be busy with that, and still have to order books, get school stuff together, etc.

And then there are the honeymoon photos to edit, and the photo books to make for our parents--I could use a few days off again!

  • I go back to teaching on the 25th, and begin Grad School right after labor day. I figured that I needed to keep myself busy..haha. So, now one night a week I will be in class for 5 hours (boo). Not so sure about the homework load yet, but I know there is a lot of reading.

  • work work work. I have to start saving so we have money for when we go back to Indiana.

I've been thinking of picking up a photography class, not sure though.  We've enrolled our son in this music dance class, once a week for 3 months. Should be fun.

  • For now, I have too much to do and I don't want summer to end!  I've had to go back to those daily to-do lists that I had before the wedding and I want them to disappear.

    Right now on my list:

     - Set up my office at my new job for the fall

    - Box up our kitchen and bring it back to my dad's house (it was his old kitchen),

     - Retrieve and unpack our wedding gifts and start using them,

     - Write thank you notes,

     - Get my new license and pic at the dmv,

     - Sort through the HM pics and print them and post them online,

     - Bring this one random piece of luggage back to my mother's house for her to store,

     - Get the ketubah and another picture framed

      - Hang up souviniers

     - Have the PT eval done

...and the list goes on and on.  And to top it all off, I can't sleep in!  I'm waking up around 8 each day when I'd rather be sleeping.  ::sigh::  Can someone add a week to summer vacation?

  • I find myself to be bored most days after I get home from work. I just started the Couch to 5K program again because I want to run a 5k at the end of October, but other than going for the 30 minute runs every other day - not much!! I've been reading more which is nice.

We should be getting our thank you postcards in the mail this week so once those come in I'll be working on getting them out quickly. And we do want to make photo books for our parents as their Christmas present. Then figuring out what kind of album we want to make for ourselves.

  • Well my little one, Ronan, takes up most of my time... But we have a long list of projects to get done around the house...

The post-wedding thing I am enjoying most?? Money in my bank account!!! I was always having to buy this or order that... I actually have a continual balance in my account... It is quite nice...

  • I agree - not used to all this free time!!! I'm taking on some more freelance contracts, sorting out all our new registry stuff, organizing our home, and (trying to) hit the gym more often and catch up with friends! I'm thinking of taking some sort of class in September but not sure what! : )

  • There has definitely been a lull in my daily routine!  I've been applying for jobs because I'm not happy with my career path.  I'm still on Maternity leave until November at the latest, but I don't mind starting a new job as early as September. Except the job market sucks right now, so we'll see.  DH goes away for the last 2 weeks of August, so I get to be a single mom for a bit.  Zoe's about to crawl!! So I'll be baby proofing the house, too.

I need a new hobby though. I should read more, and I might when DH is away and babe is sleeping.
