Just saw this morning that the house next door to us is under contract and I feel a complete sense of doom over it. When we moved in a 90 year old blind woman who never came out of the house lived there (best neighbor ever! LOL). Ugh, pray I get good neighbors. If I am annoyed at work, on my commute and at home... that would just suck.
LOL
I need a pick me up so tell me your good neighbor stories!
Re: Need good neighbor vibes
I hope you get a good neighbor! We ended up with 3 awesome neighbors at the new house. This past weekend we all hung out, drank, went on a treasure hunt in the houses being built across the street, and stayed up until 4. It was awesome. Except the getting up at 10 the next day, that was hard. But I was so worried that I would only know the 1 couple next door (they're friends from before we moved) and that would be kind of lonely but everyone in our row is great.
We don't know anyone in the next row, or the one's behind us. They don't even wave back when waved to. We're hoping the row across from us is more friendly than the others!
Our neighbors to the right are non-existent... that house has been vacant for 3 years so they're pretty awesome lol.. although.. i'm scared bc the guy who is renovating said he is most likely renting out bc it's a multifamily home..and the house is VERY close to ours so i'm nervous as to who he will find to move in there! And I have no good neighbor stories because mine are all a PITA.. the across the street neighbors have 4 maybe 5 families in the house and they take up all our parking... the backyard neighbors are the ones with the loud music and terrible brazilian/porteguese karaoke parties lol.
But I hope you get some good neighbors! Who knows, maybe they'll have a little playmate for Dex!
Good luck with your new neighbors! I hope you are blessed with some good ones. Maybe even a young couple with a little one too...it would be really nice to have that in common.
We are really lucky with our neighbors. Two of them are our friends now. We do dinner every now and again, and before I got pregnant we used to do a weekly (sometimes more often) Sip-n-Sit where we would sit out on the porch and drink wine and catch up.
We recently got a new neighbor, and we were scared, just like you, and he has turned out to be one of the nicest people. He is rarely there, and when he is he is never seen. And he even brought a baby gift to his neighbor when they had a baby, and he hadn't even met them before.
I'm hoping you get as lucky as we have been!
I will just send you LOTS of good nieghbor dust!!!!
We have some loud ones and others I haven't ever seen. We have a mix. The people to the left of us are a retired couple that are very quiet. My kind of neighbors.
Sending dust your way! Maybe you'll find some really good friends... You never know! When they move in, definitely let us know what they seem like.
We aren't home much during the evening, or on the weekend, so we hadn't gotten to know our neighbors. That is, until our house went up for sale, or right before it. We were getting our house ready and the people on the right side of us were painting theirs, so we got to talking and they're really nice. In fact, they took all the clothes we decided we didn't want and sold them in a flea market for their church, or something like that.
On the left side, a couple just moved in and I've talked to the husband a lot in the backyard, never really talked to his FI. But he's really nice and I'm hoping we can have them over for a cook out sometime. He even offered to help us on improvements to our house, not that I'll take him up on that at all.
