Who made it to balloon fiesta?
We went Sat morning. It was gorgeous, I've never been to a mass ascension on such a warm day, I didn't even really need a coat. All the special shape balloons were able to take off, which was fun, there were some I hadn't seen before. The crowds were crazy though, we took the park and ride from Coronado, next time we will be doing Cliffs or Hoffmantown, those lines were much shorter.

Duff-
There are tons of people who never make it to things in this town - Balloon fiesta, Petroglyphs, Weems, the State Fair, the Sandia Tram, etc. At least with the Fiesta you can see the balloons, so it's not like you are missing everything.
We're going Friday morning and afternnon and probably Saturday. My mom is visiting so this past weekend we did a weekend trip - in 3.5 days we did Socorro, Magdelena, VLA, San Antonio, Trinity Site, Capitan/Smokey Bear PArk, Lincoln, Carlsbad, Carlsbad Caverns, Cloudcroft, Sunspot (Solar Observatory and Apache Point, White Sands and Valley of Fire Petroglyphs. I need a vacation form my vacation!
Oh I did!! Our morning show did a live broadcast out there on Thursday. I was able to go up in a balloon that morning. My first balloon fiesta too!! I LOVED IT!!!!!
(Sorry I am never here... DH gets needy with my time anymore)

OH HOW FUN!!! Thanks for listening!
You aren't nuts!
I'm laughing at Santa Fe & Grants being long commutes. In the past month I have been to Raton for a site visit, Silver City for a conference, Farmington on my way up to Durango for a conference, Garnts/Gallup for field work and Taos/Questa for a mine inspection, Carlsbad for a short trip, and Las Cruces for a night going between other places. All I need to do is go to Tucumcari or Santa Rosa and I've hit the whole state.
I'm darn tired of driving and riding!
What morning show are you on. WHen I have to drive to work (as opposed to the bus) I listen to the radio. It would be a lot more fun to listen to someone I know!
