To the woman with "sex while on period" problem:

I know this was a little over a week ago, but maybe you are still hanging around.

Have you considered trying a menstral cup? I just recently started using them, and you have sex with them in as long as you are using the disposable kind. They are very comfortable, and they block 100% of your flow because they cover the cervix.

Try these ones. I bought them at my local grocery store (Kroger) and they work great! I know that they also sell them at some Walmart stores.

The idea may be a little bit intimidating at first, but I'm so glad that I gave it a try. I swear, I will never touch another tampon or pad again in my life.

GL!

  • Just as an FYI: You should not use them if you have an iud (I have though) . Also, if your periods are heavy don't bother with these. They don't work. I usually bleed through a super plus tampon in 4hrs. I read the reviews on the soft cup and how it's supposed to hold so much more than a tampon. I decided to give them a try on our trip to KW this past June. Yeah, bad idea. Out on the catamaran abd 4 hrs later guess what?... I'm leaking As for sex with them. Ummm no. You can feel it (the hard plastic rim) wi just your finger. Your so will certainly be able to feel it (I know mine could). He was uncomfortable so I took it out qnd we just headed to the shower.

  • I think a diaphragm can be used also, for that purpose.

Thank stinks that you has such a horrible experience! I have not had any of those problems. And for me the plastic ring went deep enough that DH said that he could hardly feel it, and he only felt it when leaning in a certain direction. I found that it held MUCH more than a tampon.

So, I guess not everyone has a great experience with it. But at any rate, it's worth a try to see how it does for you. They were only 5.50 a pack. Smile

I know, really. Just so happens that's my luck. Ever since I got my iud (paragard ) 2 yrs ago that's how my periods have been. I've just learned that on day 2 just stick with the tampons (less messy) since either or only lasts 4hrs any way. On my lighter days I do use the soft cup. When it comes to sexy time I just take it out and lay down a towel or hit the shower. Oh well, at least no more worries of periods on our trips. I can tell from my PTracker on my iPhone when it's coming and if it looks like it going to be on our trips the I go back on bcp for a couple of months to stop it ( back to back the packs).
