Recommend your favorite vacation spot!

Often times I save information about places that I might want to go someday so why don't we recommend our favorite places? Basically, be a travel agent for the board! :)

  • If you are looking for somewhere tropical to travel to, I would recommend St. Lucia. Although the trip there is longer than a trip to the Bahamas, it has a different tropical feel. We stayed at the Sandals Regency resort and ended up getting a nice room upgrade due to our travel agent. I definitely think that going all-inclusive is the way to go even if all the food isn't going to spectacular.

We obviously were there while it was fairly warm and humid and I would be interested in going back at a different time of year. I'd also recommend staying anywhere between 7-10 days.

  • We had a great time in Aruba for our honeymoon. We're not 'lay on the beach all day' type people and there was a lot to do. Shopping, shows, gambling, yummy food (Not many hotels are all-inclusive there, which is just as well). We took a jeep tour of the island one day that included snorkeling. It was a lot of fun.

We also had an awesome time when we went to Chicago. Although that may be because we both love baseball. DH is a Cubs fan and has always wanted to go to Wrigley, so we caught a bunch of games.

  • Florence....hands down. We spent a glorious week in Florence and it was in mid March, so no other tourists.  It was so low key and calm, walk everywhere, and we never got stressed....Rome on the other hand almost killed us lol
  • We have been to the Riviera Maya in Mexico twice and stayed at Aventura Spa Palace Resort both times... and we could not recommend it enough. The food, service and resort is AWESOME!

Also, if you are looking for more of a site seeing sort of vacation I recommended checking out Turkey. It is one of the most amazing places I have been/lived in (and I have seen my share of the world Big Smile).

  • I loved Florence as well and would love to go back there, but I would also love to go back to Lake Como in Italy.  It's more of a small town feel, but with lots to do and explore--and realistically its NOT a small town.

Though I didn't LOVE France overall (I didn't love the cusine oddly enough)....I would love to go back to Beaune and some of the other wine regions (I think we rode through the Burgundy region).

I loved Riviera Maya!  We stayed in Playa del Carmen at the Iberostar Tucan. It was the best vacation I have ever taken.  It's a $5/50 peso ($1:13 peso) taxi to the "downtown"  area which has the ferry to Cozumel.  We went to the Tulum Ruins, Xel Ha and went scuba diving in Cozumel.  We want to go back SOOOOOOO bad.  Plus it's not as Spring Breakish as Cancun (it's an hour south of Cancun).

  • We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. I loved Kauai and the Big Island.
