Bridal Shower Gift

Hi Ladies!

Not sure if this is the best place to ask this question, but I thought you would have some good ideas...

I am going to my good friend's bridal shower/bachelorette parties next weekend, and want to get her something really great/unique.  It could be several things that go together, if it makes more sense to do that.  I'm willing to spend up to $100.

Thanks for any ideas you might have!

Re: Bridal Shower Gift

  • What does she like?!

You could get her something that goes with her hobbies, etc. . .

  • I like to package bridal shower gifts. Some ideas:

Cookie sheets, cookie jar, cookie scoop, spatulas, measuring cups

Cake pans, decorating tools, Cake pedestal

Wine glasses, corkscrew, great bottle of wine

Or I've done the bread, salt, wine related gift with the quote from it's a wonderful life:

Bread - that this house may never know hunger.
Salt - that life may always have flavor.
Wine - that joy and prosperity may reign forever.

And give a nice board or bread knife, salt/pepper shakers, and wine glasses or corkscrew.

  • I got my friend a platter from Macy's but can't find a picture of it online. It's matches the picture I uploaded but isn't shown. It's pretty deep, has handles and can go from the freezer, to the oven to the table...haha

I also got her a Victoria's Secret white lace lingerie, similar to this one (why can't I find a freakin picture? Grrrrr)

And I got her a pair of panties like the one's I wore on my wedding day, she loved them! Unfortunately, of course, I can't find a picture other than the one of MY BUTT (hahaha!!!) that my friend took. It's a close up though so all you can see is the back

I stuffed the lingerie and panties in the dish and put it in a cute polka dot bag...she loved it! I figured she can wear the panties the day of her wedding (since she'd been talking about not knowing what 'blue' she was going to wear) and could bake something special for her hubby wearing the little white lace thingy...VOILA  Big Smile

  • I usually take one thing from the registry & creat a gift basket.  For example, my girlfriend had a panini grill on her registry.  So i got it & I made a big basket with a panini cookbook, a good bottle of olve oil, olive tapenade spread and a few other spreads she can put on the panini and a small set of appetizer plates.

For another friend, I waite too long and there were only little gadgets left, so I ended up buying the pizza cutter, the round pizza pan, gourmet pizza crust mix, pizza cookbook & over mitts and packaged it all together.

  • I like building around at least one item from the registry (if they have a registry). For example, I bought a friend of mine eight wine glasses she registered for. I topped it off with homemade wine charms and a pair of bottles of wine.

If you want to go more "bachelorette-y" rather than "bride-y," I would recommend a honeymoon kit. I did one recently that included a paperback novel (good beach read), body wash, aloe, flip-flops, lingire, chocolate body pens, and a "do not disturb" sign. I also threw in wedding and honeymoon scrapbook supplies, since I knew the bride would like those post-events.

  • A nice wine rack filled with different types of wine (add a wine journal or log or how to book if she's not a "wine pro") :)

I also received a bag of travel-sized toiletries like shampoo, hair spray, shout wipes, band aids, deodorant, along with the luggage I registered for at my shower. We took the bag with us on our honeymoon and it was great!

Another gift we got was a large cooler and supplies for a picnic!
