Did you/will you celebrate your month anniversary?

Hey All!

So many of us have celebrated one month of marriage already and many of you have monthiversarys coming up and I was just curious if anyone celebrated it or plans on celebrating it.

  • I asked this because DH and I felt differently about it.  I was excited and he was looking at me sideways. We ended up going out to dinner that night, for me it was a celebration, to him, he just wanted crab legs.  We both enjoyed dinner!

  • We probably won't do anything super special, other than maybe cook a nice dinner. I know I'll be excited about it being one month, but don't see the need to really celebrate it.

     lol

That's exactly what we did, kinda .... it also happened to be my BFF's son's birthday ... so we were out to dinner for that, too.

  • We probably won't do anything though now I am tempted to try and get a dinner out by using the one month anniversary thing as an excuse to do it!

  • Nope, we wont do anything since I'll be woring and then starting my first day of nursing school. So I'll leave at 7AM and wont see him again until 10 PM.  So no celebrating then... but maybe he'll make me dinner or something!

No it doesn't make you weird at all, DH thinks I am weird for getting excited about it.  It is just that so many ppl have a negative view on marriage to me, each month deserves to be acknowledged!  Now don't get me wrong, I was not expecting a gift, card or anything and won't be expecting it on the 11th of each month.  But hey, like lisam1217 said if I can get a date night out to dinner out of it, why not :D

hmm maybe i should try this to get a nice dinner! lol but no really, ill say happy 1 month and just leave it at that, but thats just how i am. i didnt even want a big wedding but alas, it happened.

i like that you are celebrating a little bit, actually, especially if others around you have been so negative about marriage in general. its cute :)

  • We are not celebrating it, and I honestly probably won't realize it is our one month anniversary on the day. I'm awful with birthdays and anniversaries.
  • We said, "Happy one-month anniversary" to each other, and that was it.  We recently went out to celebrate his new job, so we didn't want to go again.

When we first started dating, he gave me flowers every month on our anniversary.  I hinted that I think it'd be fun to do again now that we're married.  So far I got flowers on our dating anniversary (about a week before our 1 month wedding).  We'll see what happens Sept 9!

  • I probably would have tried to, but I was sick in bed for most of the day with the end of a summer cold.  The closest we got was when he was setting up his new shower mirror and yelled to me to ask what the date was.  I said August 11, then paused and said, "Oh yeah, happy one month anniversary!"  Sad, I know.  ;-)
  • We did! We went to the movies, but we had the movies planned before we realized it was the 10th.  So I guess it doesn't really count? Regardless, it was a good movie :)

  • I brought home friendly's ice cream sundaes the next night for us! Just to give me a reason to bring home dessert for him I used that excuse! I really just had a craving but he was excited! He actually smiled HUGE when I reminded him about the 1 month. Then we were like last month at this time we were eating dinner, dancing etc.
  • We are doing some severe savings and now diet (we fell off the boat after the wedding). However, I may surprise him with a small cake from the place where we got our wedding cake. It will have the same flavors as our wedding cake too. We only had our first bite of the cake and that was it. He was really hurt about that.
