Remember these???

We're talking about childhood toys on another board, and I just thought of these:

Who else had a pogo ball?  What other old-school toys do you remember?

Re: Remember these???

  • Skip-its were HUGE for us in late elementary school.  They always broke though.
  • I had a turquoise skip it! It's kind of funny how such a simple toy can occupy the attention of an entire recess period.
  • BAHAHAHAHA!  I never had one, and was SOOOO jealous of my neighbor, because he did....  I had a hot pink skip it though, that thing was the shiznit...
  • oh skip-it!! That was the first thing that popped into my head too! I loved that thing, I could spend hours on it!

I totally had one of those bouncy balls too. I wasn't nearly as good at that as the skip-it though...

  • I tended to have very low tech toys... my favorite was a pair of stilts my Grandpa made for me from 2x4s!  I had some mad skillz on those things.  Eventually I had to stop using them because I got too tall and they didn't rest against my armpits anymore.  I did a lot of hitting tennis balls against the door, roller blading, riding my bike around, etc.  my best friend, who had said skip-it, also had one of those turtle scooter things (basically a seat with handles you rested your feet on and propelled it by turning the handles left and right if that makes sense).  That thing rocked too!
  • Oh, I had one of those!! ;) I loved my Skip-It, and of course my Super Soaker. :)

  • HA!  My DH still has some.  I found them the other day when we were cleaning out some of his boxes of stuff to see what was donateable.

Did you donate that "Beautiful" wedding gift you got?  The little wedding diorama?

  • I also had a skip it, it was my favorite thing and then one day my dad was backing our truck through our yard for some reason and ran it over and broke it! I was so upset! Childhood trauma I tell you!

Not yet - but it is on the agenda. :)
