My stupied Jetta

Re: My stupied Jetta

  • I needed a good vent I'm over it!

  • I owned a 2002 Jetta before I got my Highlander.  It was awful!!  The computer system was horrible in that car.  My sunroof would randomly open and radio turn on...even when I didn't have the key in the ignition.  That car was crazy...the timing was off with the transmission...it would have a really hard kick when shifting (it was automatic) into the next gear...very annoying.  Anywho, I hope your Jetta treats you better in the future!  I know that 2002 was a bad year for Jettas...my mom and I both had them and found out through a couple mechanics how bad the computer systems were after we had dumped lots of money into them!!  GL!!
  • Yea I had a 02 also but I recked the car so bad and so it was cheaper to get a new one so I got a 03 but 02 sucked I had very bad transmission problems with my first one. The 03 is a much better. I just hope my car makes it for the 5 years.

Whoa. Mine would do the same thing except in spite of it I still loved my car.  I never had the radio come on randomly, but the sunroof did pop open and then closed on its own a couple of times and the transmission did the hard shifting usually when the engine was cold (I also had an automatic.)  I still made it 8 years without major problems though.  Anyway, sorry your Jetta is treating you poorly, Sarah!  I'm sure feeling like your car is unreliable is stressful when you have a baby on the way.

Yes! Mine would usually shift hard when the engine was cold!! I just got rid of mine this past March bc I was going to have to dump lots of money into it (was worth less than what I'd have to pay) and wanted something more reliable!! I owned it for 6 years, and it was paid off...sad to see it go but so happy to not have to deal with it anymore!!!

I know what you mean.  I decided to trade mine in before it completely died on me.  It was nice that it was paid off, but due to its age I knew if I didn't get rid of it soon that it would become a money pit.  So, we now have a car payment, but at least we have a warranty. :)
