Who has sent TY cards out yet?

I'm half done but I think we need 90 TY cards and I ordered 100 post cards from VP....so if we mess up 10 times and I have to order 100 more.....I'm sending one out to my knotties j/k!

Is FI helping you do them?

Re: Who has sent TY cards out yet?

  • i am done! i'm so glad those things are done lol...i mailed 70-some of them on july 28th (i only remember the date because we also went out to dinner with friends that night lol). erik didn't help me with any of them but his handwriting is literally awful. like...seriously illegible haha

  • I haven't even started them yet because I want to do photo cards, but we haven't gotten our photos back yet! It's killing me. I'm usually the one that has thank you's sent out the day after an event. We were a July 31st wedding, so I guess it's not that bad yet, but still.
  • I sent mine about 2 weeks after the wedding. I'm on mat leave, so I have a ton of free time. DH didn't need to help.  And we also didn't get to go on a HM so I was able to get them done quicker.

I was kinda sad when I sent them though.  Didn't it feel like the last "task" and it meant it was over?  I guess I still have all kinds of pictures I get to choose to frame. Fun!

  • I ordered photo thank you cards from VP and just got them in the end of last week. Now I get to start the fun task of writing them all out.  I'm sure DH will help some, but I expect to be writing the majority of them.
  • im currently in the process of writing them. i have about 100 to write and i ordered 100 cards so hopefully i dont screw any up!!!

i asked ziggy to help me with them, but he always seems to have some excuse. my handwriting sucks, i dont know what to write, im going to go cut down this tree in the yard while youre writing thank you notes. it really bugs me. i told him more than half of the guests were your family and i barely know them so you need to help!!! haha i bet ill end up doing them all myself, though :P

  • I obviously sent mine out awhile ago and they were a pain lol.  DH didn't help me, but that is because I wouldn't let him lol.  He doesn't have great handwriting, although he thinks it's fabulous haha.

  • We didn't do ours yet.  We had bought Thank You cards from Walmart which was a huge mistake because they were so cheaply made that you could see right through them!  So, we moved on to plan B which is to order from VP but won't have our picture rights until later this week.  I can't say that I am upset by the excuse to put the ty cards off!  My handwriting sucks for one and the idea of writing out 80 cards is so not appealing!  At least DH will be helping me.

  • I did  ours a while ago. We only had 22 to send. It sucked because I wanted  a personal message for  everyone. H just printed the addresses on the envelopes.

  • We have not done ours yet.  There was a big post on my local nest board about TY cards, and a lot of girls said they did them on the plane to their honeymoon.  Since we have like a 12-hour plane ride I think it's a wonderful idea... a great way to kill the time!  And how cool will it be for our guests to have their TY's postmarked from Lihue or Honolulu?  They actually probably won't even notice lol, but I think it's cool!

Now I'm just trying to decide if I want to order one with a wedding picture on it or if I want to just use the ones we ordered with our monogram on it from the invitations lady...

  • Ours were done about a month after the wedding.  Cody and I sat down and did them together--he did the folks he knows, and I did the ones on my "side."  We were personal only in that we thanked for the specific gift, said how we would use or enjoy it, and thanked them for coming or thinking of us.  We still haven't gotten them all out, but we do it as we see folks to avoid buying many more stamps.

I wanted to do the photo cards, but didn't want to wait until we got the files (still haven't from July 9!) and didn't want to spend the $--we got some nice, but inexpensive ones with Michael's coupons.  I am glad they're done!

  • I ordered photo thank you cards from Snapfish last week, so I'm just waiting for them to come in the mail. We won't have pro-pics for awhile yet, so I had to use a non-pro one. I hate having this hanging over my head...I can't wait to get started on them. I usually send thank you notes a day or two after an event, so I feel like I'm doing these really late.

  • We haven't started, yet! :(

We're waiting on ours to come in (we did photo cards), and we didn't get them ordered until we were back from our honeymoon for about a week. The first week back was insane, and I've been having a lot of doctor's appts in another state. Ordering them got put on the back burner for a bit, and they take 2 weeks to come in anyway.

  • We did postcard ty's the last thing to match our theme haha! I think the guests will think it's cute!

It does feel like the end is near, I just keep trying to keep myself busy...I picked all my pics for the album so now it's waiting for the album designs to come in and then we can approve or change stuff and then waiting for the album and then showing everyone! Then it will be over....well and picking pics for frames haha!

  • I did them all by myself within a week of returning from our honeymoon.

We just now got a card for his aunt and uncle so I have to do that one.....but other than that I finished them weeks ago. :)

One of my friends was commenting two days ago how shocked she was at how soon she got one. She was in someone's wedding like six months ago and still hasn't gotten one.

  • We just got our photo postcards at the end of the last week. I started writing a bunch last night and gave DH a list of people for him to write today. We should have them all out by the end of this week.

I have a stack of ty's for DH to sign and then I his list to write are just his family and a few of his friends.

I can't wait to get them out because I feel bad that it's already been over a month since the wedding and we haven't sent any yet.

  • Ours are written but DH wants to sign his own name... now I am waiting for him to do that. They are addresses and stamped and ready to go! I had hoped to have sent them out a couple of weeks ago!
