Monday Randoms

Re: Monday Randoms

  • We were up camping Saturday night and I must have poorly sprayed the inside part of my right foot/ankle.  I have over 20 mosquito bites in that area alone!  Thankfully I covered the rest of my body well enough that I only have one or two bites elsewhere.

  • I misplaced my Nikon D40 on Saturday night and am way too scared to tell Mike.

    Sad

He is just going to call me irresponsible, but I don't want to hear it.  I feel bad enough as it is.

    Eeek.  I hate mosquitoes!  Ewww.

    Temporarily.

Dude....do you think you left it somewhere?

I remember one time I lost my engagement ring. I'm not even sure why it was off, but I couldn't find it ANYWHERE. I didn't want to admit to DH (then FI) that I had lost it, but I was tearing the house apart finding it! I was in serious freak out mode.

I hope you find it! I did find my ring and we had a good laugh about it later.

  • Thanks to everyone who supported me in the design team call voting.  I think I ended up placing 7th or 8th.  There were quite a few issues with the voting and so it ended a day early.  I did not make the design team...however the blogger was very apologetic about how this one went, mentioned the voting would change in the future and complemented my work. I'm very impressed with how she has handled it.

In a string of dreams I had a week or two ago, I lost my new camera.  In my dream I was afraid of telling my husband for the same reason you mentioned.  I ended up finding the lenses in a later dream...but not the body :)

I hope you find it and that in the meantime your husband isn't too mad at you.

  • We got a leopard gecko this weekend!! A friend has had her for about a year and didn't want her anymore. She never handled her or anything and the gecko wasn't getting the care she needs.

I was nervous to touch her at first, but I absolutely, 100% adore her! She gives kisses and nuzzles. SUCH a sweetie! We named her Gator, because she has eyes like an alligator and she reminds me of a baby alligator. She's only about 6 inches long, and won't really get any bigger.image

It's either in someone's car, a bar, or someone stole it.  I'm actually not as upset as I should be, but really there is nothing I can do about it now.  I checked the one bar we went to, and it wasn't there (that they could tell...but its a huge camera so I'm assuming it's not there.)

I hated that I could only vote once and that I couldn't figure out how to vote from Mike's account.  Soooo bummed for you.  Sorry!

  • I'm back home from NJ! Downside is I came back sick. Stupid horrible summer cold.

I did enjoy my time in NJ. I saw Jimmy Buffett in concert and went to a Phillie's vs Dodger's game. Phillie's won. Did a little bar hoping  and the best part was being with my BFF for the week.

I must say, it is good to be in my bed again.

We used to have one. Great pets b/c no hair & no noise (except the crickets they eat).

Actually, the crickets we got haven't made a noise yet. It's weird!

I'm surprised at how snuggly and cuddly this gecko is. I thought she wouldn't want to be handled, but she loves being held.

  • So TH works in a branch office with one other person. This person just put in a request to transfer back to the main office, where she came from. They aren't going to replace her, leaving TH there by himself. The building is co-owned by the head of TH company and his good friend. This friend owned another business and ran a branch office. This person just passed away on Friday.  So TH has no clue what is going to happen to this other company, if someone will buy it, it it will close, etc.   However if it closes that will leave TH sitting in an empty office.

Let's just say this doesn't make us feel real good about job security.

Where is the main office? Is it feasible for him to work there too?

Other side of the state and we don't want to move there. There is plenty of work on this side of the state, so hopefully they would keep someone over here. We just hope they don't tell him that he can work as a contractor for them and he would have to work at home.  That would not be good, esp since I  work from home two days a week. Plus we wouldn't want to deal with logtics of being a contractor. Blah!

I doubt they'd make him work from home -- if anything, they might find a smaller office space.

It seems to me that they would want him to have an office with a small conference room to meet with clients, and have a place for partners to meet with the 'west-side' clients when they come over.

When I first started my job (4 years ago) I communted 2 hours each way.  There was talk of getting me a satellite office in that town (once I got my CPA) so that I could work from there, and there would be a place for the clients we have in that town to meet with partners and such.  I never got licensed, and the economy went in the tank, so it never happened.

  • *fingers crossed* for finding cameras, quick healing mosquito bites and husband job security.

We went to Fredericksburg, VA to visit my friends last weekend and had a blast.  Their baby is the cutest freaking thing I've ever seen.  We just got the Rebel and I'm learning how to shoot all fancy like, so I took about 7 millions photos of him for practice.

My friend sent me a link to this shirt and said: "Maybe you could modify this to look like Toby. Then maybe you could modify Toby to be useful."

Things are going better.  But they still have a long way to go.  We've only had 1 session of marriage counseling so far, and based on that first session we are going to be in counseling for a very long time.  It's going to take a lot of work - hopefully it will be worth it :)

I'm so glad to hear you have started counseling- good for you.   Take it one day at a time; that's all you can do.  Thanks for the update :)
