My weekend...

So that nestie dark cloud continues to loom...  our TV bit the dust Thursday night.  It wasn't even 4 years old, and with all of the other expenses we've had recently, PLUS college football right around the corner... the timing couldn't be worse.

But aaaanyhow.   We also had some GOOD things this weekend, so on to those...

1) We ordered a new TV, and we got a very good deal on it plus 24 months no interest, so we don't have to fork out all of the cash right now.  It's an upgrade, but not a big upgrade like we were hoping to get when we bought our next TV, but it's still nice, and we're excited.  :)

2) We bought a new car.  DH's car just keeps getting worse, so we finally made a decision, did lots of negotiating (DH is really awesome at that) and bought a car.  We pick it up tonight.  It's a 2010 Toyota Corolla S and we got a hell of a deal IMO.  So yay for that! :)

3) My cousin's wedding was in Toronto (Mississauga) this weekend and it was INCREDIBLE.  DH wasn't able to go because he wasn't allowed to get time off work, but I went up with my parents, brother & SIL.  We really enjoyed the area, and it was wonderful spending time with family.  I also can't even describe to you how incredible this wedding/reception was.  First of all, it was FULL of awesome Middle Eastern music and traditions, plus it was so dang fancy that you'd swear you were in an episode of Platinum Weddings or something, lol.  I'll have to share some pictures once I get them uploaded.

So how was YOUR weekend?! :):):)

Re: My weekend...

  • Sorry about your TV but nice on all of the new stuff and the awesome wedding!

Our weekend was crappy...  :(  We were both sick as dogs all weekend.  Somehow, we both got the exact same cold at the same time and it hit us both hard...  We both lost our voices on Saturday and neither of us could talk Saturday or yesterday.  My voice is still mostly gone today (I sound like a 12-year-old boy...) and I still feel like crap.  We spent most of the weekend on the couches, surrounded by cough drops and tissues.  We did manage to have some fun Friday night, though!  Stick out tongue

  • Weekend was good - went to my friend's Thursday night, came home Saturday night.  The garage sale went pretty well - but I gotta say, the people that frequent these garage sales give the 'People of Walmart' a run for their money!  Out of the garage sale, I do have someone interested in my dress, however, I fear it will go nowhere.  The dress is a size 12, bought when I was a solid size 8 and this woman was bigger than I am now (which is bigger than when I bought the dress).  She wants to try it on, but I don't want to waste their time and energy nor mine in meeting up with them somewhere so she can do so and then end up being disappointed when it doesn't fit.

Yesterday I did some shopping:  anniversary is today and I wanted to get a new suit for my interview.  I ended up with two new Calvin Klein suits from TJ Maxx so that was a success!

  • A new car is so exciting!

We went to a wedding this weekend, but it was not as good a time as yours.  It was at the Toledo Botanical Gardens, which neither DH or I are familiar with.  We got there at 11:30 for a 12:00 wedding, which I figured would give us plenty of time to find where we're going.  The gazebo right by the parking lot was empty with no chairs or anything set up, so we figured there must be another one somewhere else, and we started walking around.  We end up back at the parking lot, sweating our butts off, to find people starting to gather near the gazebo.  There were about 40 people, but only 20 chairs.  Who doesn't make sure they have enough chairs for their guests?  Then the bride is about 20 minutes late to the wedding, while we are standing around in the heat.  AYKM?  We decided not to go to the reception b/c we were annoyed as hell.

  • mine was relaxing.   went on a tubing excursion w/ my bff and some of her friends in mohican.   had lots of fun and relaxation.....just floating down a river....in a inner tube.....drinking beer Stick out tongue     all was great until we got caught in a thunderstorm...some people got out and some people (me included) continued down the river.  fun times!

  • Yea for new cars!  I am getting the itch for one, but DH won't hear nothing about it for a couple of more years.

Our weekend was ok.  Had a massage Friday after work and late that night had a pregnancy-emotionally induced blowup with DH that was not so fun, but we got a lot of stuff out that we'd been harboring individually.

Saturday & Sunday we stayed around the house and caught up on work stuff.  I finally recovered my dining room chairs after 4 mos.  They were in fairly good condition when we got them from my mom minus the dog and cigg smell.  I saved the foam (they'd never been used, just sat in the house) and now they don't smell too bad, but I'm pretty sensitive to that stuff.  We'll probably only use them like once a year anyways if that.  They turned out great and working on the project together with DH was nice after Friday's fiasco.

  • My weekend was ok. I worked and that was about it. Saturday night I worked from 5-12 and by the end of my shift I could barely walk. It was pretty bad. I'm thinking it was a pinched nerve. I had to have help carrying Charli when I picked her up after work :o(
  • Mine was very eventful. My bff was induced Friday so right after work I headed to the hospital and was there til 11:30 went home and then was back at noon the next day and spent pretty much the whole day there. Holding her son when he was just minutes old made me want a baby, but I came to the terms awhile ago that's not gonna happen cause of all my issues. Yesterday I just hung around the house and helped my brother move my new tv to my storage unit. Nothing to exciting at all yesterday.
