I'm going to whine too

It's not nearly as bad as hospital bedrest but . . .

Yesterday, halfway through a 50 mile bike ride, something happened to my front brakes, flipping me over the handlebars, with the bike landing on top of me.  Today I feel like I got hit by a truck and can't lift my left arm past 90 degrees.  F is leaving for three days in Florida tomorrow morning and I'm dreading having to cart around 20+ pounds of Ian with one busted up wing.

Re: I'm going to whine too

  • Oof, that sucks.  You should have done what I did when I had my bike accident and caught yourself with your face.

  • Kay, you are also granted unlimited whining privileges. Ouch. :(

  • that right there is why I haven't ridden a bike since the 4th grade
  • Uh, yeah, application for whine approved.  Damn!  I hope you feel better quickly.

  • Ha!  My front wheel was definitely mean to me.  I need a forensic examination of my brakes to figure out exactly what happened.  When my dad picked us up from the side of the road he checked my bike and my rear brakes weren't working at all.  Everything on my handlebars was pretty mangled from the crash.
  • Is your family nearby? You could just hang out at their house, let them feed you, play with Ian, etc.

...and now you all know who's a wuss when she's sick/injured. I spent a weekend at my mom's after having my wisdom teeth out.

Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
  • I'm so sorry about your accident - ouch!  Did you break anything?

If that happened to me, I'd immediately assume it was sabotage and I would blame the birds whose family member I snuffed out earlier this summer.

  • going over the handlebars sucks. i hope you heal quickly.

i am going to be on single mom duty all next week. i could not imagine doing it injured.

  • Oof that sucks. The last time I tried to get on a bike the tire blew, the handle bars were loose and the seat made me hurt in places I didn't want to hurt so I quit.
