Kind of funny...

There is a big annual award banquet in the industry I work in. It's at The Depot, everyone gets dressed up, a plated dinner is served, and a big award ceremony is played out. 

Last year the company I work for did a shared sponsorship for an open bar after party at Seven.  Total was supposed to be $2500 for our share, it ended up being an extra $1500.  (There was also a second after party sponsored in part by one of our biggest competitors).

The party planners for the Seven after party asked us to sponsor again this year at a cost of $4000.  After much deliberation, my boss said no.  Just not in the budget, but she really really wanted to say yes and didn't want to lose us the exposure it provided, but it had to be no.

We just found out that the competition after party this year is at Target Field- 'After Dark in the Park' with access to the field.  HA!  Such a good decision for us not to sponsor, I can't imagine anyone going to the Seven after party when the other option is Target Field! 

This just makes me giggle...
