Home from the beach!
I'm home from the OBX. It's amazing how fast a week can go by there. If you're thinking of going, I would highly recommend the Tri-Village area (Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo).
Funny story of the week: H, my dad and brother went out to the beach and saw a family playing fetch w/ a black lab. After a while, the family began packing up to leave so the lab brought his stick over to my dad to throw it. Unsure, my dad tossed the stick a few times and then asked the family, "is this your dog?" to which they replied, "nope, he just showed up with a stick so we played with him a while." My H, dad and brother played fetch with the dog for a while and then he moved on to a group of kids a little farther down the beach. Later the dog came back and my dad took a look at his collar, trying to figure out who he belonged to. The tag read: "I'm not lost, I live in Rodanthe."
Apparently the owners let their dog out onto the beach and he randomly finds people to play fetch with.
(Side note: while the tag was amusing, I really can't imagine just letting my pet roam freely like that.)
