Do you still get excited?

Last Saturday was our 5 month anniversary of our wedding, and most days, it's just day to day life as a couple, but every now and then I get that excited pinch that I'm actually a married woman, and I'm married to my love!

It's the same kind of feeling that I got while planning the wedding, that crazy excitment..

I don't know.. it's hard to explain.. just wondering if I'm the only one.

Re: Do you still get excited?

  • I don't think I had that kind of excitement while wedding planning.  There were definately some giddy moments but nothing like what I feel now.  Some days it feels like its always felt with him, which is a good thing.  But other days I have these "wow, I"m married and have the most amazing husband on the planet."  We've had a big thing happen in the last few weeks so seeing him step up to the plate has been awesome.
  • I sometimes have that "pinch myself" moment.  It's usually more the other way around though - the "I can't believe HE got married" feeling.  H was the friend in his group that was the least likely to marry anyone and was perfectly content being a bachelor forever.  All of his friends have told me on multiple occasions that they thought it would be a cold day before H married.  I'm glad I was able to bring the frigid weather, because he's fantastic!

  • Yes.

Marriage to my DH feels so normal and natural, but every so often we look at each other and say "we're married" with a huge smile on our face. We get a little giddy.

  • We still get excited from time to time but now that has been replaced lol Not to say that there aren't those days where I look at him and it's like "OMG you're my husband!"
  • I still totally get excited. Some days it feels like we've been married forever since we've got our routine and don't have a lot of time for just us due to work, but sometimes I just get so amazed that we're really married and I really get to spend the rest of my life with him!

  • We both still get excited, we have made a point to celebrate each month of our marriage. Its been a glorious 5 months. When he's gone running errands, or anything away for longer than 5 min. my heart still skips a beat when he comes back in the room. I love it!

  • I still get excited.

The other day I arranged for a baby sitter so that we could catch a movie around 1pm. I asked him if he would like to see "The Other Guys". He said "I would love to take my wife to a movie!" My thought was "wait... but I wanted to go (few seconds later) oh yeah! Thats ME!"

Using the terms "husband" and "wife" still feel new even though he started using them before the wedding.

  • Mine is more that I find it weird that I'm Misa MarriedName and not Misa MaidenName.

I love it when I come home from work and DH says "Hello Mrs. MarriedName." It always makes me smile!
