I feel like we have done nothing fun this entire summer.

We've been on the go every night and every weekend and haven't had time to do hardly anything. Sad

We've made it to Lake Michigan for swimming once as a family, and we went to my sister's mom's pool during 4th of July weekend which was a lot of fun. Other than that our summer has consisted of painting and unpacking.

We are going to Chicago twice in September so hopefully that will be fun.

We've had a really busy summer! Our vacation was going camping for 4 days with my family, which was fun and relaxing. Other than that we've been having lots of friends over in the evenings and we've been going to lots of weddings- 3 down so far and 2 more to go!

Oh and DH's best friend bought a house so we've been over there a few times stripping wallpaper and painting before they move in.

My summer has also been busy. This is my first "free" weekend since June. I've enjoyed most of the activities...wedding, baby shower, golf. But I have not spent nearly enough time out in the sun or on the water.

June and July were crazy busy. We had a lot of family stuff going on, plus my extracurriculars kept me very busy.

August has slowed down a lot and we're finally able to enjoy the summer. We're trying to get in as much lake time as we can now. We've been to Grand Haven several times recently, and we spent yesterday in Ludington. However, all of this lake time just makes me want to move closer to the lake. Hmm

It's been a busier summer than I thought it would be! For travel I've been to visit my friends in Virginia twice and within Michigan went to Engadine (UP), Mio, Muskegon, Grand Haven, Holland and over to Detoit/Royal Oak a couple times and visited about 10 new breweries along the way. On the personal front I've been able to watch my nephew continue to grow over the summer, we started volunteering at a local animal rescue and we purchased an SLR camera so I've been trying to learn how to be a better photographer. We've also enjoyed our first year with our CSA and I've been cooking more than ever before and with new vegetables I never knew existed. We'll be capping it off with our trip to Ireland in just 10 short days!

Oh, is it summer? Life as usual for us... DH travels, I work and run, C goes to daycare. We have a kind of "staycation" tentatively planned for September, but he just told me he has to meet with his boss that week. Blah. I cannot tell you the last time I went to a beach.

I worked a lot on my summer vacation. Hmm

It was a pretty good summer, though. We did a lot of work to the house, but we also managed to hang out by the pool and grill and just relax a lot, too.
