Re: TTT

  • 1. Our first home inspection is exactly one week away.

    2. I refinished the vanity that we got for the kids room and am working on the dresser.

    3. I need to call the furniture store to see if they have all the parts for the bunk beds in.

    4. We've called 4 Home Depots and checked all of the surrounding Lowe's for the type of fire extinguisher we need, none of them have any!

    5. I'm frustrated with DW.  We don't drink but when people leave their alcohol after a get together at our house we keep the bottles so there will be drinks for the next get together.  Since the bottles are too tall to fit inside a cabinet and DW likes to see the bottles displayed, I've arranged them on top.  I personally don't like it and think it makes us look like drinkers/partiers.  I asked DW this morning if there is anyone we could give the bottles to and told her that I don't want to give the SW a bad first impression.  She said there is no reason to give them away and that would be hiding who we are.  I'm not a drinker, she's not a drinker, having alcohol displayed does not show who we are.

    6. I don't know what to do about #5.

    7. I need to shampoo the carpets.

    8. My sander broke the other day.  Boo.

    9. My MIL gets her nails done by this woman that charges an insane amount because she does everything custom.  This woman is teaching a class on how to do nails her way and MIL offered to pay for me to take the class.  It's not a job I've ever wanted but it's lucrative because of the flexibility and amount of money I could make.  I'm thinking of taking the class.

    10. I hope it's not 107* again today.

  • 1. I had an awesome day yesterday. I had the day off, L was out of town, and I took the kids to school - so it was just me all day - something I really miss. I got a $70 refund from Kohls just by asking, I saw Eat, Pray, Love at the theater, went to Cosi and had my favorite sandwich, went to Costco (ok, so not that great - but quick since it was a weekday and I didn't have kids with me), found a pair of great pants that fit me well (hard to find), picked up the kids early, and had a relaxing/non-rushed evening, and got the kids to bed early and easily.

    2.  I actually brought my lunch today. Go me!

    3.  We leave for vacation next week. We are renting a house and have to bring a bunch of stuff. I need to start making a list.

    4.  L and I are so ready for vacation. So ready. The high temps are going to be in the mid-70s - which sounds devine. Plus, our rental house has a hot tub. YAY!

    5.   Being off yesterday, means a lot of work for today.

    6.  I can't believe the kids only have 2 more days at their current school.

    7.  I just ate my lunch and well...I am still hungry. I brought one of L's cherry jello cups. I haven't had jello in forever - and I used to like it - but this jello tastes like cough syrup. YUCK.

    8.  I might have to hit up the vending machine for some Cheeze-its.

    9.  I think I want to sign the kids up for Taw-Kwon-Do for this fall. I need to find a class.

    10.  My new GPS is awesome! :)

  • 1. I'm SO glad that DW is back from MIL's!!!

    2. MIL is a brat and thinks the world revolves around her.  I'm so thankful that DW doesn't feed into her BS.

    3. Vacation last week was so nice!  I did not want to be back at work yesterday, but now I'm getting back into the swing of things.

    4. I'm not quite sure what to get for lunch, but I'm craving something horribly unhealthy.

    5. Forgot to take meat out for dinner again. Oops.  Either we're having something vegetarian or it's takeout again.

    6. I want babies.

    7. I had to re-do my budget spreadsheet because the timing was getting off on my payments.  I was paying ahead, so it's not a bad position to be in, but there comes a time when things need to be re-aligned.

    8. I'm worried about one of my friends who keeps moving to be with these guys she has just met.

    9. My September travel schedule is filled with exciting places where I have friends. :-)

    10. Lunch time!  Wendys? I think so. (See #4)

    3. Everyday that passes without a call or email about a job, I feel a little more like I am stuck forever. I am falling into a rut.

    4. I not-so-secretly am hoping we have twins.

    5. I bought lunch today. The stuff I brought was blah.

I've had luck with boots from widewidths.com. I have narrow/average feet but big calves and this was the only place I found that had boots to fit me.

  • 1. I am so happy about the outcome in court yesterday. I can't believe it finally happened!

    2. I allowed myself 15 minutes to peek at adoption announcements and then prompty logged off. No tempting of the fates here!

    3. LMC. I don't know what is going on with her but it's awful and needs to stop. Yesterday. I can't stand another day of this and there is no break in sight for me :-(

    4. I want to have a baby. Not new news but I think about it all the time.

    5. Eggrolls. They need to appear in large quantities right this second. Must have them.

    6. I think I really am going to have to go to work nights/weekends. I am so angry and upset about it I could cry. This was not the plan.

    7. I have been spending a lot time walking down memory lane,  thinking about people from my past. I wonder what that means?

    8. What must our neighbors think when they hear LMC carry on like she does? Her new thing is to yell OW! over and over again, even when she is alone. Super.

    9. I have a lot I want to say to friends or on my blog but I am afraid to. I always feel like I have to keep up appearances in some way. Anyone else?

    10. I dream about moving to Vermont or CT daily now. I want a proper fall in the worst way.

Our niece used to do that, but she did it alone and in other situations. The worst was when her parents would have her in public and if they tried to give her instructions she didn't want to follow or get her to calm down from a tantrum, she  would screech and yell "OW!!!!" as if he'd just smacked the *$*& out of her (totally not the case, they don't engage in spanking or anything of the like).

    1. DD may have had a couple of seizures yesterday.
    2. She has to see a neurologist within the next couple of days.
    3. Our pediatrician's office wants her to have an EEG.
    4. I am REALLY bummed about it. I hate to see the kiddos having to struggle through so much.
    5. I barely did anything I needed to do today.
    6. My DS has been fighting his sleep all day...they both are napping right now.
    7. I may have to do baths and bedtime by myself, C was able to go to the appointment but had to go back to work. There is something major going on.
    8. I don't want to work my one day tomorrow.
    9. We all need a vacation...and some orajel...kids are really teething.
    10. I could sure use one shot of tequila, some lime, and a tadbit of salt...my neck muscles are extremely tight.

  •  nevr2amazin, I hope every works out with your daughter. Big hugs!

    1. Went our looking at houses yesterday and I'm now covered with itchy mosquito bites. This is what happens when you live in a swamp.
    2. DW was freaking out earlier about committing to buying a house and I'm afraid I wasn't as supportive as I probably should have been.
    3. One of my coworkers is driving me insane today. I've discovered a very low tolerance for total uselessness. I feel bad wanting her to get fired/quit because she has two kids but....
    4. My baby sister moved into her graduate school apartment today.
    5. When my sister graduates, every member of my family will have a masters degree or PhD except me. And I'm the oldest kid.
    6. I'm going to a mediation retreat this weekend and I'm very nervous about not talking for two days.
    7. Our realtor is so awesome I feel really bad that we're not buying a more expensive house.
    8. My office is such a complete mess. It's embarrassing.
    9. We're usually homebodies but I somehow scheduled evening activities every night this week.
    10. So I'm off to happy hour w/ my ladyfriend and my lady friends.

Ugh I am so sorry to hear about the possible seizures.  Been their done that.  Let me know if I can help with any questions about the eeg.  It really isn't that horrible although you do have to hold her down to attatch all the electrodes.  They used the glue with Ella on most of the electrodes and I think that was better than the tape.  Anyway they read the eeg right away and we were told that even if don't record any episodes babies with seizures show abnormal brain activity even when they are not having an episode so you should be able to get some information pretty quickly.  Which doesn't help much but at least you will not have to wait too long for some answers.  If you or C want to chat send me an email at genierster @ gmail dot com and we can figure out a time to talk.
