Hound's Mommy/Daddy post made me think...
On DH's side of the family they generally call grandparents "Maw maw and Paw Paw" I don't love it but whatever. Well... great grandparents I have learned are "Other Maw maw" and "Other Paw paw" I am sorry but that is just a little too hillybilly for me. I am going to try really hard to get his dad to be Grandpa since my dad prefers Pappa. My family it was always Grandma __(last name)__ so my mom will be Grandma Droll, then her mom will be Great Grandma.
Re: Hound's Mommy/Daddy post made me think...
That doesn't even make SENSE.
I'd be fighting that tradition too, hah.
it was always grandma/grandpa last name with both sets of grandparents for me. my niece and nephew call my parents maw and pa. that will probably continue with me when i have kids.
