New to stainless = I'm clueless

We're moving into a house with all stainless appliances, which I've never owned before.  How do I clean/maintain stainless without ruining the finish?

Also, please recommend a lightweight vacuum or sweeper.  The house is entirely laminate and tile.  I come from carpeting, so I'm clueless about that, too.  I plan on buying the Eureka Enviro Steamer (saw great reviews on it) for washing but don't want to drag out the old clunker vac if I don't have to.

Thanks.

  • Weiman makes a great SS spray.  It's the one thing I have found that keeps it nice.  That being said, I think it's a process of trial and error.  So try a few different things.  I have also heard vinegar/water combo works well.

Sorry, I don't have any light weight vacuum recs!

  • I use the Weimann brand also but I get the SS wipes. All you have to do is wipe over the surface and then do a final wipe with a dry/clean dish towel.

  • Stainless is a PIA to clean.

Ive found the Windex all surfaces with vinegar works great although I love the idea of stainless wipes :)

If theres any Granite/Marble in the house the Windex is safe to use as well. Gets stone nice & shiny !

  • Both Clorox Anywhere and Method Stainless are excellent
  • I use the Method Stainless steal cleaner.  I think it works great and I also like the smell of it.
