Bathtub Staining

DH had a roomie before we got married and he obviously did not clean his bathroom too much. The tub is the type of plastic that you would get from a bathfitters. No matter how much I scrub/bleach/soak, you can tell it's dingy. It has streaks of clean and dirty running down the side. Any tips or solutions as to how I can make it clean looking again without having a bathroom remodel?

Re: Bathtub Staining

  • Have you tried a magic eraser on it yet? It sounds like it's a fiberglass tub, so you shouldn't be dealing with discoloration from removing the top coat or anything like you would with a porcelain or cast iron tub.

  • Magic erasers work wonders.  My shower had gotten discolored after using those stick-on rubber strips to help with the slippery-ness of the tub.  They showed off how well I was NOT cleaning the tub after removing them.  Now I use a magic eraser and the stains come off with ease!
  • I used the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the floor of my tub and it worked great.
