AW: I had my housewarming party
Hi, can I just be an AW for a minute? Our housewarming party was on Saturday. It was our first time hosting a party and by all reports, it went well. People arrived late in true Caribbean fashion but it was really good. We had planned a simple bbq but different family members brought in various other side dishes and stuff. It turned out really, really well. The only hiccup is our DJ (a friend) set up the DJ equipment showed me how to use it and left. I ended up DJ'ing for a better part of the night. LOL
We also celebrated my mom's birthday and had the cake and stuff...she enjoyed herself!
Everyone loved the home and told us to just bear patience in getting through it. We also got some gifts which we didn't expect. I went to bed at 4am. DH and some friends hung out till like 6am then they proceeded to start having fun again at 8am. Huh?? These guys and two ladies, spent the night, then left at 5pm the Sunday - all the while eating bbq and drinking beers. Cah-razy!

we had our housewarming saturday, too, and ended up with some overnight guests. meanwhile, i cracked open the wine at about 2:30 pm and was asleep on the couch amidst my guests around midnight. oy vey!

Sounds like a great time Karyln! I'm glad to hear your mom was in town (I may have missed hearing about her visit). I was cracking up about the fact that it's Caribbean style for folks to arrive "fashionably" late and then party until the sun comes up! lol. I bet you were a great DJ! So glad to hear the home renovations are coming along and you finally get a chance to celebrate and christen your house with "great vibes" (lol) from family and friends!
I'm glad everything went well with your party and of course I'm sorry I couldn't make it! But, I'd better see you at the next GTG!
