My cervix hates me
Three weeks in a row, still only 1 cm dilated.
This baby does not want to come out.

You're going to have to coax her out. What are the old wives' tales? Spicy food, lots of sex, and constant walking.
Otherwise, she'll come out at some point. It's not like she can stay in utero forever.

Probably wouldn't hurt (well, don't let it hurt) to try some sex
Semen has something in it that helps soften the cervix.
Also, my water broke (at 40 weeks 1 day) while doing some nipple stimulation after having DH rub my ankles a LOT for like 2 days straight.. oh and I had a membrane sweep at 39 weeks and 40 weeks.
Did your Dr ask if you wanted to try that next week? The one at 39 weeks didn't do anything (didn't even hurt) but the one at 40 weeks hurt like hell and made me start to have small contractions about an hour later.
When my water broke I waws only finger tip dilated. Don't worry about it, I kind of wish they wouldn't even tell you- I think it just leads to frustration.
I don't know how you are surviving these last couple of weeks! I'm at 34 weeks now and I really feel like that anticipation point has hit - where I am just ready to have this baby! I'm not a very patient person anyway, so this is quite the challenge.
I hope these next couple of weeks go quickly for you!
I totally agree that sometimes you're better off not knowing!! But, I know the anticipation makes it really hard, too.
You can try these at home stuff too: drink lots and lots of red raspberry leaf tea (I made a pitcher a day my last week), eat pineapple, have sex, walk as much as you can, and you can also take evening primrose oil. I think that has the same effect as having sex.
BTW, if you or any of the other moms-to-be are interested in the evening primrose oil, I have 3/4 of a brand new bottle I'd be happy to pass on. I think I took them for a week before I went into labor. (whether it helped or not, or was just coincidence.) PM me and I'll mail it asap.
Enjoy these last few days/weeks.....go to dinner with your hubby, see a movie, take lots of naps. Baby Kocal will be here before you know it!
