The tire is still stuck.  It has become the bane of my existence.  Why can he not call and ask for help?  Why can he not call a tow to either come give it the old college try or tow it somewhere where someone can?  Why is it the past two nights he has spent hours out there making no progress on the damn thing whatsoever?  Why has this stupid effing tire basically ruined the week and our anniversary?

Re: vent

  • Are the bolts stuck? And is he using power tools or just hand held tools? it probably would have to actually be towed, they have power tools right on the truck. A tow truck driver changed my tire while standing along the side of the road and it only took about 10-15 minutes. I'm sorry that he's being so stubborn :(

He's got the lugnuts off, got everything off...just can't get the effing tire off the vehicle!  He won't call.  Ugh!  If he decides tomorrow to not come home from Camp Perry again until Sunday, I may have to take matters into my own hands.

Here's the kicker.  He's known for at least a year he needs new tires (two of them and brakes too).  Hasn't gotten them because of the cost (whatev).  I on more than one occasion offered to just put it on my Anderson's card (zero balance right now and over a certain amount it's interest free for like 6 monhts).

I was telling DH about this and he was telling things, but it was a lot to type out, so I didn't respond.  I figured it was pretty much stuff Shawn was already doing.  If you want, I can give you a call tonight after DH gets home and have him talk to you or Shawn.
  • Jen, let me know if this sounds familiar:

Put lugnuts back on, but don't turn them until they're snug or just before they're snug (or another suggestion was a 1/4# gap between them in the tire), lower the vehicle, drive back and forth about 4-5 feet each direction, then try again to remove the tire.  Last night he went to autozone and got who knows what but apparently that didn't work either.  I'm sure with his job, he's assisted many people with tire changes, not sure why this one won't budge (although, I was a little surprised when he said he never has his tires rotated).

Brandy ~ nope, that isn't close, so maybe you should call me or we should call you.  DH works on cars and builds cars (has a race car, but nothing done to it because he has no time, so it is just the shell right now with a roll cage in it).  We even buy our tires online and DH then takes all the rims off and have the tires put on at a place and put the rims back on. I'll send you a message on FB with our number.  DH said it sounds like it is rusted some where and to do a couple of different things, but I can't remember what the heck they were.

Is it in the front or rear?
  • It's the rear.
