rehearsal dinner drama!

so here's a story from our wedding weekend that i do not talk about too much but thought you would enjoy!

during our rehearsal, my DHs 2 brothers were being PITAs!  they were honking horns using their key fobs and ignoring us and the pastor as we went through the ceremony.  needless to say, DH was furious!  we ended up pulling both brothers aside on our way into the dinner to say something.  one apologized immediately for upsetting us.  the other got all defensive saying things like "how can you think i would ruin your wedding day, i know it is important."  DH said, "you did not give us too much confidence after today!"  so FBIL (groomsman) and his wife (bridesmaid) walked out at the start of dinner.

we were not sure until the next morning if they were even going to show up for the wedding.  they did.  separately, they both said it was the best move because they did not want to ruin the fun of the dinner with their attitudes.  and honestly, we probably had more fun without them there.

gotta love family drama!  they are now my family too!  can't wait till the holidays, haha!

Re: rehearsal dinner drama!

  • Oh my goodness! How would they have liked you to do that at theirs?? That must have sucked they walked out but they're right in the end it was probably the best!
  • wow. That's very immature to disrespect everyone at the rehearsal.  I hope the pastor wasn't too offended.  And it's probably a relief that they decided to up and leave the dinner.  I'm glad you still had fun!!

  • Wow, I would have thought that they were teenagers if it wasn't for you mentioning that the one has a wife!  Hopefully they behaved on the big day!
