I took my mom to the airport yesterday morning. So we were driving southbound on I-5, and we'd just gotten south of the city. I suddenly realized that there were NO cars in the northbound lanes of I-5. I pointed it out to my mom, and then we noticed a couple cops on motorcycles in those lanes, and we saw some cops parked on overpasses.
A couple minutes later...the Presidenial cavalcade came up the northbounds lanes! That was pretty cool to see. I didn't even know until I confirmed (via radio) a few minutes later that Obama was in town yesterday. He landed at Boeing Field (which is a private airport) instead of the main Seattle airport. We drive right by Boeing Field, so I'm just bummed I was so preoccupied with trying to figure out why I-5 was closed that I didn't think to look for AirForce One. I guarantee it was within view of the highway, and that would've been cool to see.
Oh, and apparently they put all the flights at Seattle on a groundstop while AirForce One landed...so my mom's flight left 40 minutes late.

Re: Interesting sight yesterday!
That's pretty cool, but too bad about your mom's flight being slightly late!
A few months ago when he was in SF, my brother posted a video of his motorcade going by his office, that thing went on forever and ever!
