We're in NYC.
In our bedroom, we have a 3 foot wide closet which currently is DH's closet.
I store my t-shirts in the linen closet and clothes that require hanging in the same closet where we keep our suitcases, skis and golf clubs.
Now we do have a lot of space - our bedroom is probably about 20x20. We have one dresser from Ikea and along a "vacant" wall we have a shoe rack. (I say "vacant" because that's where we could put a wardrobe if we got one, and re-arrange the shoes).
Has anyone purchased those fabric covered wardrobe things? I can't add/create closets because we rent and for a space we rent, construction of additional space is not worth it.
These are what I'm looking at:

Re: I have no closets.
I'm actually considering getting one of those but for like our garage where we're going to keep winter clothes (no basement). Why don't you try the free-standing wardrobes from like Ikea? I don't know where there is out that way (I'm near Chicago so we have a couple stores here) but you might want to also look into something like this (below) so that you can kind of design what you want and get the storage you need without having to build something in. Its not a GREAT example but there are other ones that are more enclosed.
Young House Love used IKEA wardrobes to make some extra storage space in their bedroom.

I love, love, LOVE the curtain idea. I'm going to show this to DH since I think he may be more amenable to that.
Thanks!
