cruises?

what cruise lines do you typically cruise with? DH & I are looking into going on a Southern Carib cruise out of San Juan (RCI) over Thanksgiving week & I'm hoping there will be people our age on board.

We've been on a cruise once before, but it was a 5night which turned into a 4night b/c of Hurricane Wilma. It was on carnival & it wasn't the greatest experience. My cousin even gave the same cruise itinerary 2 more tries & carnival disappointed them every time.

What are your experiences??

Re: cruises?

  • I like Royal Caribbean a lot...it's fun. And I've heard great things about princess...they will probably be my next cruise 'cause I wanna check it out. Celebrity is cool but it caters to an older crowd, so you might get bored.

  • We've always cruised Holland America because that's what the whole family does, and it's nice, but not geared towards our age.  I would go with Royal Carrib.  I've booked my parents on a cruise with them and they loved it.  I've always heard good things.
  • What didn't you like about the Carnival cruise?  I went on a shorter trip (less than a week) with Carnival out of Florida and it was horrible - lots of REALLY drunk people running around puking on the deck.  It just seemed really trashy.  The ship wasn't the nicest or newest.

But I have gone on other carnival cruises for 7 nights or more and had a great time.  On bigger ships, there seemed to be more young people and was more fun.  The newer ships were much nicer - people seemed less likely to hurl all over the lounge chairs...  But, that was just my experience.

I have heard really good things about RC - my sister and I have talked trying them out on our next cruise.  I have heard that the food is better than Carnival.

  • DH and I are loyal Royal Caribbean customers.  We cruise 1-2 times a year and always have a great time on RC.  If you have any specific questions let me know.
