My car has a ghost

So I have a 2006 car, which shouldn't have many problems, right?  Oh my goodness.  I've had the car for 4 1/2 years and have been having issues with it for about 4 yrs.  I think it has an electrical problem that's linking all these issues.  First thing that happened was my cruise stopped working. I wasn't in the state when it happened and my ex was borrowing my car and he took it to get fixed since it was under warranty. Then my dash & headlights would dim for a split second and come back to normal.  It did that a few times.  It's blown the fuse for my cigarette lighter twice.  My airbag sensor for my passenger seat went bad, they gave me a whole new bottom cushion.

The most recent events have been my car battery died Friday after work, took it to auto zone that night, my car was putting out way too many volts, but by the time I got it to the mechanic Monday morning, it wasn't doing it anymore! Angry Then yesterday my cruise control went out AGAIN!  Which makes my hour commute on I-40 a bit of a pain in the arse. BUT... it came back this morning (YAY!).  I NEED THE GHOST OUT OF MY CAR!!!! I think I need to go back to American made cars.

  • Kia Spectra.  We have 3 cars and every single one has an issue right now.  DH's cars are both pretty minor though.  It's just really hard to find the attachment pieces for his soft top on his Tracker, so when it rains, it pours in his car.  I've been having to chauffeur him around lately.  His baby, the Vic just needs a new alternator, and that's on order.
  • I was going to guess that you had a VW, DH had tons of problems w/ his. He actually got rid of it after only a few years b/c he was tired of dealing w/ all the constant problems.  Though I have a few Ford model exceptions, American made would not be my choice if I were looking for something more reliable.

  • This car is my first foreign car, my other cars, and my family's other American made cars have all been good.  Plus I know more people that can fix American made than Korean. Smile  That makes it easier on the pocket book.

Me too!  I hated my VW because of all of the problems.  I have become a true Toyota lover since my Matrix has done nothing but treated me well.  GL!  I hope you can get things figured out!
