If you could change one thing

about your husband what would it be?

Id stop him from smoking. He's a pack a day smoker & I hate knowing its going to really hurt his health when he gets older. Life's too short as it is.

Re: If you could change one thing

  • I would figure out a way to help him lose some weight. He already has arthritis in his neck, so I know the extra weight doesn't help. We eat healthy & work out, but he just can't seem to lose any. Things have not been the same since he had his appendix out almost 3 yrs ago.

  • I wish that he'd didn't have a laid back attitude about the big stuff in life and worry about the small things. If the apartment caught on fire, no biggie. If he gets ketchup on a shirt, hold on to your butts.

  • he cant read my mind. lol

my biggest problem is his reluctance to give opinions. he's getting better, but sometimes when i just want "green beans or broccoli" i'd like a dang answer!

  • Pretty much the same as lca... He freaks out over small things but the bigs things (like paying bills) he's really relaxed and doesn't always see the need to pay things on time.
  • Just one thing...just joking.

He would do what he says he is going to do...study for a test that if he passes will give him a raise and we can move out of state, get his child support lowered, get his snoring issue looked @, kick his best friend out.  It takes me being a nag/witch - combo of the two to get him to do it.  Uuuugh, but I see results when I do it.

  • id give him a little more self control... when it comes to eating. lol. he's in great shape, but i know he wants to eat better and he lacks all self control when it comes to food. if it's in the house, it'll be gone within a day. plus it would be a nice relief on our wallets. lol.
  • Ugh his tardiness!!!! He totally denies it too, which makes it even worse.

  • I really wish he would have an opinion/make a choice. Where to go to dinner, what to cook for dinner, etc. It's always "whatever you want."

  • His organizational/tidiness skills. In that, I'd like him to have some. He's kind of a messy person -- doesn't put clothes away, leaves things random places and asks me where they are all the time. I hate feeling like I have to keep track of his stuff and tell him to pick up his crap.

Of course, this is one thing I'd like to change about myself too! For some reason, though, his clutter bothers me more than mine does. I think it's because mine is like organized chaos. It's messy, but I always remember where everything is.

  • Wish he would stop smoking.
  • His lack of ambition and motivation. He has gotten better  in the last year, but he still is so lazy about motivating himself to do better. Only when I'm a nag does he start to get things rolling.

  • I would fix his eyes so that he could find the things that he can never seem to find - yet I find them in a split second - and they're almost ALWAYS right in front of his face! Yes, honey...you may need to bend down and look in he cabinet to find it!

  • Lose weight. I love him, but it is so unhealthy and so many problems come with it.

Ummm yeah.  For reals.  If I actually want an unbiased opinion on big things, I can't give any hint about what I think, and then I have to beat it out of him.  I guess at least I can never complain that I don't get my way, right?

I know!  I get the "Oh honey by the way *** & Jane are coming over tomorrow night."  And I know he won't clean or pick up some beer/wine or whatever so that's for me to do right now to prepare for tomorrow?  Ugh I hate that!

I agree with the picking up after himself, his crap is everywhere and it seems to multiply!  Why don't boys get the whole concept of organization?

This. Ya know why his truck is still sitting the driveway, but hasn't been working for the past 2 weeks? Because wifey didn't tell him "NOW we're bringing it in. Right now." I'm letting it up to him. And that'll be never. But then when we're stuck somewhere with it on a weekend, I'll hear him tell a friend, "Yeah, I haven't brought it in cuz I've been working nonstop, I'm so busy!" I feel like I wanna be little that olllllld couple on Princess Bride - Miracle Max n his wife, and jump out yelling "LIAR!!!!!!!" pointing at him.. lol And the truck is just one thing. This is why *I* pay the bills. And pretty much anything else important. I decided when we got our new A/C last year I'd let HIM do the warranty. (which was sposed to be in within 30 days of install). IT TOOK HIM ONE YEAR!!!!!! So yup. If things were left to him, everything would be late or never done, which would make things harder on me. *rolls eyes* One of my client's moms has been married for 17 yrs and said her hubby is like that but WORSE now. She told me, "You laugh about it now! But just wait another 15 years and see how it aggravates you then!" Ugh!! ;)
