I hate micromanagers. HATE.
I'm supposed to make a database for another group that's on my team. This was given to me just over two weeks ago. I informed the supervisor of that group that I have a very full plate for the month of August, so I will be getting to her stuff at the start of September. Despite telling her this multiple times, she keeps sending me emails of information about the database. And then she comes over to my desk to ask me if I read the email. She even printed one out and left it on my desk.
She also likes to catch me in the hallway to discuss the database. I have told her repeatedly that I'm not even reading the emails because I can't get to her stuff for two more weeks. I'll read them then so everything is fresh in my mind when I'm ready to work on the database. She still wastes chunks of my time talking about it all and her concerns for something I haven't even built yet.
Today she informs me that she's emailed my supervisor (who is also her supervisor) to see if they can rearrange my priority list so her stuff can be moved up because she's going to be gone at a wedding in two weeks. UGH. This just straight up pisses me off. I have been clear with her from the start when I will start on her project. She just keeps working herself into a tizzy and can't stand the idea of not being around to micromanage the hell out of this (she does it to her staff too). I told her to calm the foff down, but nicely.
I'm going to see if it's at all possible to pass this project onto someone else because I don't want to hear another gestational diabetes word about it.
Re: Boring work vent
11/11/11 = 5 years. Woah!
Gah, that is annoying. I say hand it off. Or bake her some ex-lax brownies as a thank you for being so proactive.
My work vent is that I am currently designing some replacement analyzers for some furnaces that are called furnace 11 and furnace 12. All of the analyzers for furnace 11 are 12XX and all of the analyzers for furnace 12 are 11XX. And they want to keep it this way. It would be SO easy to just fix it now. It makes my eyeball twitchy.
The nerve!
