Brunch Places on a Saturday?

Does anyone have any suggestions to take an out of town friend for brunch that isn't Flying Biscuit or J. Christophers? She will either be in Suwannee or Decatur so preferably not toooo far from either of those.

Re: Brunch Places on a Saturday?

  • Decatur and Suwanee are really far apart, so I don't have any recommendations that are convenient to both. But I do have some recommendations for Decatur and nearby neighborhoods.

Thumbs Up Diner is my favorite breakfast/brunch place in Decatur.

Murphy's (Virginia Highland) and Rosebud (Morningside) are just a few miles away and have great brunches (two of the best I've had in Atlanta, and I am a serious brunch connoisseur!)

Java Jive isn't exactly a brunch place--they specialize in pancakes, which I think of more as breakfast than brunch, but it's awesome. And some of the best coffee in Atlanta. A few miles west of Decatur on Ponce.

Those are my favorites in Decatur/NE Atlanta. I'll let you know if I come up with any other ideas!

  • I'd second Thumbs Up.

You could also do Sun in My Belly, Rosebud, or Babette's Cafe. I haven't actually eaten at any of them, though.

  • thanks, ladies. i think we will try Rosebud
