TMI - Diva Cup ?

Does it hurt when you take it out? How do you break the suction properly? I can't seem to figure it out and if I don't it might be a deal breaker.  Other than that I love it.

Re: TMI - Diva Cup ?

  • It doesn't hurt when I take it out, I just have to squish it together by the sides to break the suction and kind of fold it in so the top is more like a U shape than O shape. It definitely takes a little while to get the hang of it - but after that ---- life changing!!!

Hope you are able to make it work for you!

  • I HAVE to get one of these! Do you have to get them online or are they in any stores?

  • If you go to the Diva Cup website and but in your zip code it will tell you if there are any stores around you that sell them.  They seem to carry the at a lot of health food stores.  Good luck!

  • Ditto PP.  *Sorry TMI*  I bear down like I'm having a bowel movement, use my thumb and index finger to pinch the cup about halfway up to release the suction, and twist and pull straight down while still pinching.  Empty into the toilet.  I know it sounds like a lot to do up there, but seriously after you do it a couple times it's like bam! and it's out.

I got mine at Whole Foods. Best.Invention.EVER!

Ditto this.  Since you are planning to buy online anyway, though, you might try the mooncup, since internationally that seems to work better for people.  Diva cup is available in a lot of health food stores and co ops, if you decide to buy locally.

  • I bought a diva cup last year and only used it for two cycles.  I found the discomfort of taking it out not worth the aggravation.  I ended up going back to natracare (the chlorine free tampons)....
