So apparently, me not getting that first interview with the principal who emailed me to set up the interview was the best thing that could have happened to me...
I mentioned later on in the OP that I had gotten a call for an interview at a different school, which was actually my dream school within the district. And yesterday they offered me the job! It's a .67FTE and I couldn't be happier or feel any luckier right now. Though, now I'm realizing that I start new teacher orientation next week and workshop is the week after that, so I'm going to be busy busy! I'm going from playing with toddlers all day to actually teaching my own classes, so the work load is going to increase significantly (not that I'm complaining!).
Thanks for all of the thoughts and vibes!
Re: F/U last week's interview
Congrats!
FTE=Full Time Employment, so basically .67FTE is basically working 2/3 of the time that a 1.0FTE person works. Some districts do shorter hours but working all 5 days a week; some do full days, but only working three days a week or whatever the time equivalent is.

This exactly! I'll be working shorter (3 class periods out of 5) hours 5 days/week. I'm thinking that it will be a great introduction to my first real year of teaching.
I've already said this, but congrats! And it is busy! Last year I got hired the same day I went into my classroom for the first time! Woosh!
You'll do GREAT.
Congrats again Kate!
Tomorrow when we're out we can get coffee to celebrate.. that seems like a good excuse to get coffee. :-)
